Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance lost me at Hello

Updated on February 21, 2012

Did it do it for you?

I was absolutely STOKED to see Ghost Rider Spirit of Vengeance. One of my favorite actors Nicholas Cage was back to bring the house down with thrills, smoking guns, fiery chains that I was ready to see whip across the big screen. Unfortunately I got lost somewhere in the story line with the lack of thrills and no I wasn't on the edge of my seat, heart pumping loudly out of my chest with pure excitement. I was bored which caused me to feel bad about my attitude. I sat up in my seat and cleared my mind and was ready to really go in deep but it never happened. It was like having the taste for a big juicy steak, cooked to perfection, then one bite into it, the flavor is so distasteful you have to spit it out, look at it and wonder if this is what I actually ordered.

It wasn't my least favorite movie of the year but it was a big disappointment. After watching behind the scenes of never seen before camera angles, wide shots, and action sequences I thought for sure this was going to be a movie worth spending my hard earned money on. A movie that could last for two hours straight and you didn't feel the time passing. A movie that you wished would never end and once the credits started rolling a roar of clapping from the audience-which never happened. Only the distant chatter of conversation that had nothing to do with the movie.

No one wanted to talk about the movie which was funny because we always come out of the theater with our voices raised talking about which scenes we liked the best. The disappointment washed over all of us and our conversations began and ended with a recap of last seen episodes of The Vampire Diaries and Justified. Sad but true I don't think I will rush out to buy this one. I could have wrote a way better screenplay. No offense but a movie like this has limitless possibilities. Dropping the ball would be an understatement.
