Indie Film - Ghost of You

Updated on October 16, 2011

Ghost of You

Walking past you, do you see me there?

One whispered word tells me your story.

Daughter of thought—a sister in fear.

That ghost of you I see everywhere.

Everywhere.

I watch you walk on the borderlands,

A pale shadow of what you should be.

I don’t yet know you, of that I’m sure,

So how can you hold my life in your hands.

[chorus]

That ghost of you and all it means, keeps haunting me.

A life never lived or a life apart.

That ghost of you tears at my heart.

So when will you start to see

The ghost in me?

You’ve looked through me as if I’m not there.

Your light and dark are so unreal.

What makes you think that I can feel

Anything (anything).

[bridge]

You run away, you hold your tongue, you turn to me,

but still don’t see. Oh, how I prayed someday

These ghosts will go away.

A word is all it took, just a word.

A distant voice called for us to listen

That roaring note whispered in your ear,

But it was always lies you heard.

Anything…

[bridge instrumental / repeat once to fade]
