So Many Claim To See Them

Too Many to Ignore

Many people grew up believing that ghosts and hauntings were just entities and events that were made up for scary stories to tell around the campfire. Most people have heard "there's no such thing as ghosts" at least once in their lifetime from a parent figure when they were a kid, but times are changing.

More and more people are willing to come forward and share their experience with the supernatural and paranormal when it comes to ghosts and hauntings. Even some very famous faces have divulged this information on these paranormal shows that are popular today. Can all these people be spinning a yarn or suffering from bad dreams that feel real to them?

There are just too many people from all walks of life who confess to seeing a ghostly figure or endure an event of some type of strange activity in their surroundings to ignore this today. Is it time for the skeptics to ponder the possibility that there is something other than what we know as events in reality out there?

Is There More To It Than What Meets the Eye?

Who Are These Folks?

The paranormal TV shows about hauntings, entities, ghosts, and demons are plentiful today. These are not fictional sitcoms, these shows consist of everyday people telling their stories of run-ins with ghosts and homes that are haunted.

These shows appear on many of the more reputable channels, like the Discovery Channel and the Travel Channel. From objects that are haunted to entire towns experiencing ghostly encounters, there are stories after stories being shared today by people who are sane and pillars of society.

Police officers, firefighters, people of the clergy, teachers, politicians, gardeners, doctors, waitstaff, lawyers, and people from many other walks of life have stepped up to the camera to tell their stories. Evidence has been captured on camera, voice recordings are plentiful, and the number of eyewitnesses is overwhelming.

This Can't Be Mass Hysteria, Can It?

There are just too many people who are willing to share these stories today to come up with any other explanation except they really have experienced what they've reported. Sure, as with anything else when the opportunity arises to be in the spotlight, there will always be someone with a tall tale to spin. But these people on these paranormal shows have been vetted to guard against false reporting.

One of the more rather convincing shows on the air today is Ghost Adventures. It is ranked number one among the paranormal shows on TV by Ranker. This group hunts ghosts and they do this by going to places that have reported hauntings. Zach and his group not only use their own instincts for gathering evidence of entities on camera, but the also use scientific equipment, which has offered up some pretty compelling evidence as well.

Ranker lists dozens of shows that deal with paranormal entities and events on TV today. These shows are centered on people who have experienced something of out of the norm that falls under the paranormal. Hundreds of people have appeared on all these shows combined, so you would have to say it is close to impossible for these folks to be suffering from some sort of mass hysteria. Especially since all their stories are individualized.

Are They All Delusional?

As with any entertainment venue, people are bound to take some liberties with creativity to keep the people coming back for more. You don't want to sit for an hour watching people talking into recorders in hopes of hearing from those beyond just to have that hour wasted with nothing materializing. Viewers will quickly back off and move on.

With that said, there has to be a lot of cutting and editing so these TV shows offer constant action. Many of these shows claim that these are real-life stories as told to them by the people who experienced the event. Most of the time that person is part of the show.

Many times as the show ends, a person who described themselves as a skeptic will confess to now having a change of heart over ghosts and hauntings from what they've experienced.
