Gilmore Girls- Where Are They Now?

Gilmore Girls ended in 2007 after 7 seasons, leaving many fans sad and upset. But they weren't sad for long, as most of their favorite characters from the show have gone on to do other projects. So... where are they now?

Lauren Graham, who played mom, Lorelai, on Gilmore Girls, is now on the hit NBC series, Parenthood. She plays a similar character to Lorelai, a single mom raising her kids on her own and quickly becoming more and more successful. On Parenthood, she plays mom, Sarah, who has 2 teenagers, Amber and Drew. Between Gilmore Girls and Parenthood, she's also been in several movies, including Evan Almighty and It's Kind of a Funny Story. Her most recent movie was "A Merry Friggin' Christmas," where she starred alongside Joel McHale and Robin Williams.

Alexis Bledel is probably best known for her role as Rory on Gilmore Girls, but she's been in several movies before and after the show. Before the show, she was in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, Sin City, Tuck Everlasting, I'm Reed Fish, among others. Since the show, she's been in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, Post Grad, The Conspirator, The Kate Logan Affair, Violet & Daisy, The Brass Teapot, and Remembering Sunday, among others. She recently appeared in the movie Parts Per Billion, as well as a few episodes of Mad Men. Bledel was supposed to be in a show set to air in the spring of 2013, called Us & Them. Her love interest on the show was Jason Ritter, who was actually Lauren Graham's love interest on her show, Parenthood. However, the show fell through and was never aired. She has two movies scheduled for 2014/2015.

Scott Patterson played the diner-owner, Luke, in Gilmore Girls. Since the show he has been in 3 of the popular Saw horror movies, including Saw IV, Saw V, and Saw VI. He also played Michael Buchanan on the television show, The Event. Patterson has since appeared in the movies A Beer Tale, Love at the Christmas Table, and Meth Head. He has several movies in post or pre-production scheduled for 2014.

Melissa McCarthy played Sookie, the best friend of Lorelai, on Gilmore Girls. Since then, she has definitely made a name for herself. She played Dena on the show Samantha Who? and has become widely known for her roles in many movies, particularly comedy. She started in The Back-Up Plan with Jennifer Lopez, Life As We Know It, with Katherine Heigl, and then the popular film Bridesmaids. She is now in the role of Molly in the hit CBS tv series, Mike and Molly, for which she won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Her most recent films were This is 40, Identity Thief, The Heat, and Tammy. She has several movies scheduled for 2014 and 2015.

Jared Padalecki played Dean, Rory's first boyfriend, on Gilmore Girls. Since the show, he has been in a few movies, including House of Wax and Friday the 13th. His most well known role, however, is that of Sam Winchester in the CW series, Supernatural, which has been going strong so far for 10 seasons.

Milo Ventimiglia played Rory's love interest, Jess, for a few seasons of Gilmore Girls. He went on to play Peter Petrelli in the show Heroes. It lasted 4 years. Between the two television shows, he was in the movies Rocky Balboa, Pathology, Gamer, and Armored. Before Gilmore Girls, Milo had been in other movies, such as Cursed, Stay Alive, and Dirty Deeds. Milo was in the movie That's My Boy, with Adam Sandler, and had a small role in Sandler's film, Grown Ups 2. He was also in the movies Static, Kiss of the Damned, and Breaking at the Edge. He recently had recurring roles in the shows Mob City and Chosen, and has several movies scheduled for 2014.

Great hub, it is interesting to look at a particular cast and chart where they are now- I love that Melissa McCarthy has done so well since Gilmore Girls ended. It speaks well of Gilmore Girls that so many members of the cast have gone on to steady gigs.
Um what about Kelly Bishop and Edward Herrmann?
This is great! I loved Gilmore Girls growing up, and it's great to see that so many of the people I grew up watching are now doing other wonderful things with their lives!
