Horror Films: Must See Ghost Movies

Since I was in grade school reading Highlights magazine, I have always enjoyed a good scary story.

Since then, I have read numerous books from the horror genre. My favorite horror novelists are Stephen King and Dean Koontz. The best of their books are rich, engaging, and provide a complete world for the reader to become immersed in. This is the same type of experience I am looking for when I watch a horror film.

Over the years, I have sat through numerous bad horror films to occasionally find those that are capable of offering a well-crafted story, rich characters, and a good scare. These films raise the horror film genre above that of mindless, pointless gore and torture (although even those can be fun).

What follows are a list of such films that also feature ghosts in some form. If you enjoy a good scare, these movies should be on your list of must see, or see again!
