Attack on Titan


Emotionally Charged

This anime is captivating from episode one. With some gore and wild action, this series will have viewers on the edge of their seats through every episode. Viewers become emotionally consumed with this series and feel their heart strings tug for the characters and their fight against the Titans.

The story is about humanity building walls around their cities to remain safe from the Titans. Giant creatures whose only desire is to eat humans. No one knows much about the Titans, except they have to defeat them to secure the safety and future of humans. The main character's name is Eren Jaeger who wishes to join the Survey Corps to go beyond the wall and eliminate all the Titans. His friends, Armin and Mikasa, bravely decide to join him on his journey.

Sword Art Online


Packed with Action and Romance

  • 25 episodes so far, and five episodes in SAO II

This is another action anime, but based in a vitual reality video game. The story is about a boy, whose game name is Kirito, who enters Sword Art Online through the use of his Nerve Gear. This allows his mind to transfer to the video game, but he soon learns that the creator of Sword Art Online has taken away the option to log out and return to reality . If people die in the game, they die in real life, and if their Nerve Gear is removed, they will also die. The only way to leave the game, is to beat it.

Kirito shows special skills in SAO and slowly helps the front lines through the floors of the game in hopes of defeating the final boss.

Death Note


Intellectually Intriguing

Death Note is a suspense anime. Slightly older, but still very popular in the anime world. This series is for those who enjoy suspense with a hint of paranormal factors. It is a story about a boy named Yagami Light who sees a notebook fall from the sky outside a window at school. He approaches the notebook and learns it is called a Death Note and the instructions inside explain any name written in the Death Note of a person will die. Intrigued, Light will have to decide how to use the Death Note and as the smartest person in his class, learn how to also outsmart the justice system.



Innocence and Akuma

This anime is a bit longer than others with 103 episodes. Unfortunately it is not quite finished, but the manga is still continuing. This does not mean the anime episodes are not worth watching. Packed full of action, D.Gray-Man is about a boy named Allen Walker who is an exorcist. With innocence in his arm, a green substance sent from God to help battle demons, Allen uses his transforming arm as a weapon to save humanity from the demons created by the Millennium Earl. This anime's story is intense, with many characters working with Allen on his way to defeating the man trying to destroy all exorcists.

Say I Love You


For the Girls

For girls, sometimes it is nice to watch a little slice-of-life romantic anime, and Say I Love You is exactly that. A story about a girl, named Mei, who has no friends, and the most popular boy in school, named Yamato, runs into her one day. This anime shows the importance of communication in life, like having friends who care and falling in love. To take a break from all the action of anime, this anime has a slower pace and easy feeling; a relaxing anime.

Fairy Tail

This anime is also for people who enjoy longer anime with plenty of episodes to keep them occupied. Fairy Tail's story is about mages who are part of the guild called Fairy Tail. Each episode features these mages on a quest to restore peace. The story centers around Natsu, a fire mage, and Lucy, a Celestial Spirit mage, with the appearance and help of other characters such as Grey and Erza. Although the story focuses on a select set of characters, the Fairy Tail guild is full of unique characters.

This anime does not have an over arching plot, but is focused around smaller stories such as the mysteries behind a cursed village and the stories behind the characters.

Cowboy Bebop


Family and Bounty Hunting

Cowboy Bebop is about a group of bounty hunters who work together on Sci-Fi adventures to find their bounties. Each episode is different with the characters searching for a new bounty. Four characters, Spike, Jet, Faye Valentine, and Edward, each a strange character who seems to have no real place in the world work together while developing unbreakable bonds. This anime is for people who do not feel the need for a major plot, but a simple anime with simple goals while still full of action. Viewers will enjoy this anime for its sense of family and emphasis on character development.
