This Means War

The Plot: This Means War is a 2012 American romantic comedy spy film directed by McG. The film stars Reese Witherspoon, Chris Pine, and Tom Hardy as victims of a love triangle in which two CIA agents who are best friends discover that they are dating the same woman.

Best Time to Make Your Move: The Kitchen Scene, for sure.

Love Actually

The Plot: Love Actually is a 2003 British Christmas-themed romantic comedy film written and directed by Richard Curtis. The screenplay delves into different aspects of love as shown through ten separate stories involving a wide variety of individuals, many of whom are shown to be interlinked as their tales progress.

Best Time to Make Your Move: To me, you are perfect. Second option - Aurelia, will you marry me.

Shakespeare in Love

The Plot: Shakespeare in Love is a 1998 British romantic comedy-drama film directed by John Madden, written by Marc Norman and playwright Tom Stoppard. The film depicts a love affair involving Viola de Lesseps (Gwyneth Paltrow) and playwright William Shakespeare (Joseph Fiennes) while he was writing the play Romeo and Juliet. The story is fiction, though several of the characters are based on real people. In addition, many of the characters, lines, and plot devices are references to Shakespeare's plays.

Best Time to Make Your Move: Right After the crowd erupts with applause.

With Honors

The Plot: Brendan Fraser plays a Harvard masters student working on his thesis. His only copy of said thesis ends up in the hands of homeless Joe Pesci, who is residing in the Harvard Library. In attempting to get it back, Fraser has Pesci evicted from the library, forcing Pesci to trade one page of the thesis for each random act of kindness provided by Fraser's character.

The film follows Fraser's evolution, Pesci's demise, and a budding romance in the house where they both live.

Best Time to Make Your Move: The pajama party. Either during Pesci's speech, or just after.

Bottle Shock

The Plot: Bottle Shock is a 2008 American comedy-drama film based on the 1976 wine competition termed the "Judgment of Paris", when California wine defeated French wine in a blind taste test. It stars Alan Rickman, Chris Pine, and Bill Pullman and is directed by Randall Miller.

Best Time to Make Your Move: Right after Gustavo first shares his wine.

Fool's Gold

Letters to Juliet

The Plot: Letters to Juliet is a 2010 American romantic drama film starring Amanda Seyfried, Christopher Egan, Vanessa Redgrave, Gael García Bernal, and Franco Nero. This was the final film of director Gary Winick. The film was released theatrically in North America and other countries on May 14, 2010. The idea for the film was inspired by the 2006 non-fiction book, Letters to Juliet, by Lise Friedman and Ceil Friedman, which chronicles the phenomenon of letter writing to Shakespeare's most famous romantic heroine.

Best Time to Make Your Move: When Claire Meets Lorenzo.

Can't Hardly Wait

The Plot: Can't Hardly Wait is a 1998 American teen comedy film written and directed by Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont. It stars an ensemble cast including Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ethan Embry, Charlie Korsmo, Lauren Ambrose, Peter Facinelli, and Seth Green, and is notable for a number of "before-they-were-famous" appearances by teen stars.

The story takes place at a high school graduation party and in a style much like that of the high school movies of the 1980s. The filmmakers were inspired by their observation that in most teen films the best scenes were the party scenes, and thus decided to make a movie set entirely at a party. Though the film deals in common high school stereotypes, some favor its chaotic but appealing mise en scène and performances.

Best Time to Make Your Move: At the end, when they agree to get coffee.

The Plot: Serendipity is a 2001 romantic-comedy about a couple the reunites years after the night they first met, fell in love, and separated, convinced that one day they'd end up together.

Best Time to Make Your Move: When the second glove falls, and then Northern Sky starts playing.

Notting Hill

The Plot: William "Will" Thacker (Hugh Grant) owns an independent travel bookshop in Notting Hill. He is divorced and shares his house with an uninhibited Welsh eccentric named Spike (Rhys Ifans).

Thacker encounters Hollywood superstar Anna Scott (Julia Roberts) when she enters his shop to buy a book. Minutes later, the pair collide in the street and his orange juice spills on her clothes. He offers his house nearby for Anna to change and they develop an on again-off again friendship and attraction.

Best Time to Make Your Move: When the final song comes on after the press conference.

Easy A

The Plot: Olive Penderghast (Emma Stone) a teenage girl living in Ojai California lies to her best friend Rhiannon Abernathy (Aly Michalka) about going on a date in order to get out of camping with Rhiannon's hippie parents. Instead, she hangs around the house all weekend listening to Natasha Bedingfield's "Pocketful of Sunshine". The following Monday, pressed by Rhiannon, Olive lies about losing her virginity to a college guy. Overheard by the school's Jesus-freak, the rumors spreads quickly and things get out of hand.

Best Time to Make Your Move: When she climbs on the lawnmower at the end.

The Plot: This is the story of a college slacker who stumbles into a male escort job during his summer break to raise enough money to get back to college and the girl he loves. Patrick Dempsey does a fantastic job in the lead role.

Best Time to Make Your Movie: During the Kirstie Alley-Patrick Dempsey dance scene (hey, sometimes the best move is a fun one)
