Great Animated Movies to Watch for Halloween
The Corpse Bride is about a young man named Victor who is supposed to marry the beautiful Victoria, a woman whom he only just met. While practicing his wedding vows in the woods, he accidentally makes himself husband to Emily--a beautiful and dreadful dead young woman.
Victor is thrown into a fantastical world of the dead, and while he tries to fight his way back to the awaiting Victoria, he discovers that appearances are not all they seem, and is caught up in Emily's heartbreaking past. It's funny and quirky and, as usual, very Burton-ish.
A creepy and brilliant tale, Coraline is the story of a young girl who recently moved into a new, boring house. However, she discovers a door that leads her to what seems like the same world, only it's much more fun and colorful. But a darkness lives in that world, and nothing is as it seems. Soon, she finds herself fighting to get out, and adventuring to save her parents from the claws of the Other Mother.
Hilarious and quirky, this movie is about a boy Norman who can see dead people. Ghosts wave to him and are his only friends, other than a rather chunky boy who follows him around a lot. Though he's an outcast, when a warning comes from an odd uncle of his about a curse waking up zombies and disturbing the town, Norman must become the town's hero--if only they will listen to him.
Nightmare Before Christmas
From the mind of Tim Burton, this movie clashes Halloween and Christmas in a thrilling, cute tale of Jack Skellington, who finds out about the joys of Christmas and the repercussions of trying to take over other Holidays.
That's all I've got! If you have any more suggestions, feel free to comment, as these are only a handful of great movies for you to watch with your kids this Halloween!
