Who is Heidi Klum?

Heidi Klum, a German supermodel has been a part of the modeling community for many years. A native of Bergisch, Gladbach Germany, Klum got into modeling after winning a modeling contest at the young age of 18. Prior to this, Klum had aspirations to become a designer. Klum is also well known for her longtime marriage to British singer Seal, now her ex-husband. Before her marriage to Seal, she was previously married to Ric Pipino from 1997-2002. This article will not cover any of Heidi's movie and acting work and it will not address her family life. This article is designed to give readers a brief look into the life and career of this famous German woman.

Heidi moves to New York City and then becomes famous

After securing a modeling contract, Klum then moved to New York City and got started with Victoria’s Secret. Any person that is interested in fashion would remember that name. I was watching those fashion shows over a dozen years ago. You could say that this is when Heidi’s modeling career rose to new heights. Klum became known famously for her appearance in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and this happened in 1998. Klum has also made appearances in other famous magazines such as Vogue, Elle, and Marie Claire.

A Brief look at Heidi's modeling career

Heidi’s first runway appearance came in 1997 and in 1998, she became the first German supermodel to be on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. I like Heidi for her down to earth personality and her overall enjoyment of life. Watching all of those Victoria’s Secret Fashion shows made me see the soft side of Heidi Klum. We can all learn from her right?

Heidi has many leisure activities that she enjoys. These include jazz and ballet dancing, traveling, painting, skiing and music. But she says that her best leisure activity is spending time with her family. If you want to look up to someone as a role model, Heidi Klum should be a person that young people should look up to as a symbol of success. Heidi has had success in modeling, acting, and design. Heidi Klum's Reality TV and Design Work

In television, Klum became famous for starting a reality TV show known as Project Runway. Klum became the host and the executive producer of the show. The show first aired in December 2004 on the Bravo channel. For three straight years, the show became nominated for Outstanding Reality Competition Program from 2005-2007. Klum is currently also the host for another reality TV show in her native Germany called Germany’s Next Topmodel. Klum’s aspirations of becoming a designer have materialized as she has designed her own jewelry line. Klum has also been involved with creating some shoes for Birkenstock. Klum has also helped to organize a clothing line for Jordache jeans in addition to becoming what is known as a spokes model for that organization.
