Hips Don't Lie is a blend of salsa and Colombian cumbia. Shakira has won two Grammy awards, seven Latin Grammy awards and twelve Billboard Latin Music awards. She is the highest selling Colombian singing artist of all time and second to Gloria Estefan the highest Latin artist of all time. In 1995 Shakira founded a foundation which provides special schools for poor Colombian children. She seems to have her feet on the ground a bit more solidly than several young Hollywood entertainers whose come to mind.
