Hot Farrah Fawcett Pics: Ode to a timeless beauty
What do you think of when you hear the word pinup?
Betty Boop? Betty Paige? Pam Anderson? Marilyn Monroe?
In my mind, I see a poster of Farrah Fawcett in a red bikini. The long curly blond hair. The smile. The white teeth. And pokies. It's the popular one in the 70's that sold over 12 million copies. Now since I was too young at the time, I never had a copy but it was so popular that it comes to mind.
Like most, I first learned of Farah Fawcett in the seventies TV show, Charlie's Angels, as she played Jill Munroe. Although I wasn't a big fan of the show, I used a few of Charlie's Angels posters as book covers. It was the famous image with the three silhouttes of the three Angels. I assumed that Farrah Fawcett was one of them.
Farrah Fawcett: Cancer Tragedy
When I first heard of news with Farrah Fawcett battling cancer, I thought she was receiving treatment for breast cancer. After all, breast cancer seems to be the most common cancer for women, at least from what I hear in the news. Since I thought it was breast cancer, my initial reaction was not that of alarm because many women celebrities had received successful treatment of breast cancer.
It wasn't until circa April-May 2009 when Farrah had been rushed to the hospital under critical conditions that I realized she was suffering from anal cancer. She died on June 25, 2009 at the age of 62.
There's a really a lot to be said about Farrah Fawcett (can you believe that to this day some people still spell her name as Farrah Faucett?). Going just from memory (and this from someone who doesn't know much about her career), I know that she was married to Lee Majors, The Six Million Dollar Man, back in the 70's. At the time, she was billed as Farrah Fawcett-Majors. She ended up divorcing Lee Majors for his best friend, Ryan O'Neal. I think we all know how that ended up.
Does anyone know if Lee still talks to Ryan?
When Logan's Run came out in 1976, there was a big fuzz over Farrah's casting. It was a very small part, but I think it was her movie debut. She had been doing TV and commercials since 1969.
1976 proved to be a remarkable year for Ms. Fawcett. That's the year when Charlie's Angels debuted. That's also the year her famous poster was released.
In March 2006, Farrah Fawcett was named by the Australian mens magazine Zoo Weekly
as one of the "Top 50 Hottest Babes Ever". In 2007, GQ acknowledged
her famous poster as “the most influential piece of men’s art of the
last 50 years.”
Lately, I've been seeing tabloid pictures of Farrah mainly paparazzi pics as part of her bout with cancer. I'm not sure if what I see is all her, but if they are, then she is truly timeless.

Farrah's Foxy Vette
So what did Farrah Fawcett drive? George Barris, the legendary car customizer for the stars, worked with Farrah in customizing a 1970 Corvette Stingray and turned it into Farrah's Foxy Vette. The car was sold off on an eBay auction sometime in the early 2000s to an unknown owner.
