Hot! Rod Stewart Life, Music, Videos & Still Hot!

Updated on November 22, 2015

Considered by many to be the greatest white soul singer of all time, Rod Stewart continues to delight his fans around the world. From his recent release of "Soulbook " which takes the great sounds of soul and gives them the Stewart treatment to his latest venture into the country with his 2015 launch of "Another Country". Journey with me as he and learn more about the man and his beliefs, check out the many quotes that showcase the many chapters in his life. And listen to details from an in-depth interview with Mary Hart from ET! some of his personal philosophies. Just as Stewart revives "old" but great songs in his album Soulbook, so too did he undergo his own revival. Most importantly, take the time to experience some of his magical music. Even after selling 250 million records, having a career spanning decades with dozens of iconic #1 hits, this Scot is still hot!

You will know Rod Stewart by his amazing body of work spanning more than four decades - "Maggie May", "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?" "Some Guys Have All the Luck", "You Wear It Well", "Sailing", "Tonight's the Night (Gonna Be Alright)", "I Don't Want to Talk About It", "Downtown Train", "This Old Heart of Mine", "The First Cut is the Deepest", "Have I Told You Lately","Rhythm of My Heart." and my personal favorite "Forever Young". Forever Young sums up this incredible singer’s career!

Hot! Rod Stewart! Since 1969 and Still Hot!

Stewart is 64. Instead of slowing down, he is preparing for another tour. He even took time to sing one of the cuts from “Soulbook” on Dancing With The Stars. Music has always been his “real baby” but he confessed that he is working on child number 7 only to state that the office will officially close after child number 7!

I've tried to have a regular haircut, but it just pops back up again, so this is the way it's going to be.

If You Don't Know Me

2009 ALBUM “Soulbook”

In October 2009. Stewart released a new album entitled "Soulbook". The album includes Stevie Wonder and Smokey Robinson.

Stewart confided in a recent interview that he felt truly humbled with the caliber of talent that collaborated on this album with him.

In fact, he went on to say it was rather scary to record with these phenomenal artists who are a huge part of the "tapestry of his life".

JAMES BROWN: "ROD STEWART IS THE BEST WHITE SOUL SINGER IN THE WORLD" James Brown said that Rod Stewart is the "best white soul singer in the world". Stewart stated that this is the greatest compliments he has ever had.

Maggie May one of his crowning examples of his creative genius and that recording is now 38 years old!

THE LEGACY – THE RECORDS/ALBUMS/SINGLES SOLD Stewart's four volumes in the "Great American Songbook" series have sold a staggering 8.3 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

To date, Mary Hart reported he has sold over 250 million albums and singles! Wow! That is a lot of records!

The Artistic Process

I found it interesting the debate that apparently took place in order to choose or pare down to only 13 Songs.

He jokingly stated he took advise from everyone and didn't listen to them! Stewart stated simply that “part of the process is the argument".

The problem was the volume of work available, there is a "whole wealth of material" so the process of only choosing 13 songs was daunting.

He is 64 and thrilled still to be in the business. He is working on a tour. He loves live performances - not the traveling but the audiences.

The business is so different now, he states, it doesn’t take a lot to sell a lot of records. It has changed dramatically over the past 3 years, even over the past 6 months.

"I want to go out at the top, but the secret is knowing when you`re at the top, it`s so difficult in this business, your career fluctuates all the time, up and down, like a pair of trousers." Rod Stewart remains hot at 64 and his new album "Soulbook" is just as promising.

Rod Stewart Interview with Mary Hart of ET News

In a recent interview Rod Stewart visits with Mary Hart, sings a duet with her, and invites her into his family room where he creates his music.

Instead of getting married again, I'm going to find a woman I don't like and just give her a house.

You go through life wondering what is it all about but at the end of the day it's all about family.

Stewart's Hobby - Model Trains Set in the 1940s

It should be no surprise that Rod Stewart is fun loving - very self-evident from his music and his whimsical hair. What is surprising is his love for model trains. In his Beverly Hills mansion, he has constructed a 1:87-scale version of New York's Grand Central Station in the 1940s. The train set boasts 100 feet of track, locomotives, skyscrapers, along with period correct advertisements and miniature passengers in time appropriate hats and coats. And it measure 124 feet long by 23 feet in width!

Life has interesting turns. In an interview with Larry King, he reported that his Dad gave him a guitar with the exact words of "'Son, I think there might be some money in this.'" Stewart confided to Larry King: "I actually wanted a railway station for my model railway. I was 13 or 14, maybe at the time. He bought me a guitar and the rest is history."

2015 Stewart Launches 29th Album and Enters the Country Market

In October 2015, Stewart launched his 29th album but this time, at age 70 he ventured beyond classic rock and entered a new realm and the title of the album was appropriately named "Another Country". While the reviews were kind, the exuberance for Stewart's other work was missing. What was consistent was praise for Stewart's vocals.

Fast Cars, Toy Trains, Beautiful Woman, Talented Artist - Thankful Artist

Throughout it all, all the beautiful women, fast cars, countless platinum and gold records, and a career that spans five decades, Stewart remains an indomitable artist and spirit. What sets him apart is his charm beyond the rock star image.

Rod Stewart in an interview with CTV News, Rod proclaims he is "old school", an ironic statement given his iconic rock and roll image.

Well, there's not a day goes by when I don't get up and say thank you to somebody.
