Hotel Transylvania 2 is Coming!
The Sequel to Hotel Transylvania Looks Hysterical
When I took my daughter to see Hotel Transylvania in September 2012, I laughed my butt off, and how could I not? The comedic genius of Adam Sandler as the entrepreneurial Dracula, an overprotective dad with an anxiety attack resistance to humans, and co-stars like Kevin James, Selena Gomez, Andy Samberg, David Spade, Molly Shannon, and so many others this animated family movie was hard to resist. Now, nearly three years to the date, the long awaited sequel to the Sony movie will debut in theaters. Find out what Dracula and Mavis, Dracula's human loving daughter, are up to now, and see what characters will reappear in the movie, and what new characters we can expect in Hotel Transylvania 2.
Hotel Transylvania 2 Will be Old-School
While we don't know much about the upcoming sequel, we do know a brand new vampire, Vlad (voiced by Mel Brooks) will be visiting the hotel. Unlike Dracula and Mavis, Vlad is an old school vampire. Since Hotel Transylvania has been revamped to be very modern, we can expect that there will be a bunch of old school haunting going on in the monster hotel while Vlad is in town.
Hotel Transylvania 2 Returning Characters
If you are like me, you probably get disappointed when you learn a sequel will not have all of the star talent it had in the original. With Hotel Transylvania 2, we don't have to worry about that. The major characters that made the original animated children's film great will be back. Below is a list of characters/actors, we can expect to see in Hotel Transylvania 2 when it appears in theaters in September 2015.
- Dracula/Adam Sandler
- Mavis/Selena Gomez
- Wayne/Steve Buscemi
- Jonathan/Andy Samberg
- Frankenstein/Kevin James
- Griffin/David Spade
- Eunice/Fran Drescher

Characters/Actors That Aren't Appearing in Hotel Transylvania 2
As one would expect with busy schedules, there are a few characters/actors that audiences will be sure to miss. It's important to note that this list was based on information available now and could change in the months leading up to the release of Hotel Transylvania 2. As of March 12, 2015, actors that starred in the prequel to Hotel Transylvania 2 that aren't appearing in the sequel include:
- Eunice/Molly Shannon
- Quasimodo/Jon Lovitz
Ceelo Green is Not Appearing in Hotel Transylvania 2
Everyone knows who Ceelo Green is! He is the the mastermind and voice of the 2010 popular song Forget You and was once a judge on NBC's Voice. Ceelo Green also voiced Murray in the original Hotel Transylvania, but will not star in the sequel. However, the character, Murray, formerly voiced by the R&B crooner will return. Instead of being voiced by Ceelo, Murray will be voiced by Keegan-Michael Key. It is rumored that Ceelo Green was replaced in the sequel because of his ongoing sexual battery charges and legal matters.

New Characters in Hotel Transylvania 2
In addition to an already hilarious cast, there will be a few new characters/actors in Hotel Transylvania 2. As I already mentioned above, Mel Brooks will be debuting as Vlad. Vlad is rumored to be an old-school vampire that is sure to bring hilarity and uncomfortable situations to the monster hotel. From what I have read, it appears that Vlad will be a relative of Mavis and Dracula. In addition to Mel Brooks, other characters and actors that will be new in Hotel Transylvania 2 include:
- Cakie (voiced by Chris Kattan)
- Kelsey (voiced by Julia Lea Wolov)
If, or when, new characters and actors are announced, I will add it here.

Hotel Transylvania 3 is Happening!
As a writer, I'm always looking for clues that a movie will have a sequel. When I watched Hotel Translyvania 2, I immediately recognized the writers had plenty more story to tell. However, it wasn't until recently that my suspicions were confirmed.
Hotel Transylvania 3 will happen! It isn't scheduled to debut until 2018, so we have some time to wait. But, what we do know is that it will follow Drac. It's been reported that Drac will be all grown-up in the second sequel and trying to figure out how to be half-human and half-monster.
