Hotel Transylvania Movie Review.

Updated on September 30, 2012

Terrifyingly Adorable.

Looking at the cast of this movie, I must admit, I was skeptical. I am not a fan of the contemporary versions of Adam Sandler and his crew. In a kids movie? I expected a variety of sneaky innuendos and fart jokes with an over the top ending. I went in with the same heavy sigh and low expectations I have every time that Adam Sandler releases.
What I got instead?
One of the most adorable, fun to watch children's movies I have seen in a long time. In fact, the last time I enjoyed a kids movie this much, Sandler's llive action movies were still funny.
Seriously. The only family can enjoy this film. The plot was strong, the setting was comfortable, I even enjoyed Sandler's "cliche" Dracula voice.
There's plenty of humor for childen, adults, and 21 year old bloggers-who-spend-way-too-much-time-at-the-movies.
Something that I think really gets lost in the modern age of incredible special effects is just how fantastic the animation in this movie is.
All in all.
The plot is great, if a little corny at points.
The characters are very loveable for a party of monsters.
The writing is smooth and charming.
I say its a must go. A must see.
Get off your couch, get in your car, and go enjoy Adam Sandler for the first time since Clinton was in office.
