How Many Times Should a Person Marry?

Updated on June 26, 2013

I grew up going to church from the time I was 7 or so I was learning you should be married once. I was always reminded "Til Death Do Us Part". Apparently Jerry Lee Lewis missed those parts in his Bible study class. Because on March 9, 2012 he married his 7th wife. Yes, I said 7th wife.

This story does get better. His 7th wife used to be married to his cousin Rusty Brown. Rusty happens to be the younger brother to Myra who was Jerry's 3rd wife. I am starting to have the feeling that this family wants to keep it in the family.

i understand that sometimes a marriage doesn't work out so people get divorce and then remarry. I also understand that spouses may even die and a person becomes lonely. What I don't understand is actually being married 7 times. My mom is getting a divorce and she said she would never get married again. I never thought their would be a real life Victor Newman.

Maybe it is because Jerry got married at a young age. Jerry first got married when he was 14.

1st Wife: 20 months

2nd Wife: 4 years 2 children

3rd Wife: 13 years 2 children

4th Wife: 12 years(she drowned in their home swimming pool)

5th Wife: 3 months(died from methadone overdose)

6th Wife: 20 years 1 child

Lewis has proven that he can at least stay in a relationship for a long period of time. Who is to say that if his fourth wife hadn't of drown that he would have married pass that number.

With the recent birth of North West it got me thinking with Kim Karashian already have been married once. Will she saying I do once more or twice more.

Yep, Jerry Lee is something else!! Nice hub. As for the marriage part, I do believe you can love more than one person in a lifetime, and sometimes marriages just don't work out. Obviously, many other people feel the same!! Tell your mom I said "good luck".
