Expressing Your Creative Side

Expressing your creative side is hard. It takes time, energy, and motivation. How do we stay creative in our busy day to day lives? Investing in what we love to do of course! Listed below are just a few ways to stay creative.

1. Finding Your Niche

There are many ways we can find our niche. It all starts with what we love to do. Whether it's playing music, writing, painting, photography, videos, media, or a fun home project, there are many ways we can express our creative outlet.

2. Listen to Your Heart

As Cliché as it might sound, there is some truth behind this quote. The heart wants what it wants. Following our heart is the simpliest way to narrow down and pinpoint which path to go on in our journey of creativity.

3. Set Aside Time

Though setting aside time is one of the hardest things to do, begin to make time throughout the week. Even as little at 15 to 30 minutes once a week is all it takes! By putting aside time, you are allowing and making room for that awesome idea you've been dying express all this time to come to life.

4. Write Down Your Thoughts

Often we tend to get the best idea's at the worst times or when we least expect it. Writing down your ideas or even typing them into your phone, will remind you to get back to them later. Sometimes the best ideas are the ones we forget to write down!

5. Tell a Friend

Last but not least, tell a friend! Sharing your creative ideas and thoughts will help get out what you've been feeling this whole time. Maybe sharing your creativity, will help someone else find a way to express theirs.

That is so sweet and encouraging! I love to write. There is something so special about this community on hubpages, and I've received nothing but positive feed back. I look forward to connecting with more amazing people here on HP

You are so correct! I thought I wanted to write novels after retirement. I did, and "Back to the Homeplace" was very good. Recently, after three or four, I've found that my creativeness comes out better, and more satisfying, here in these 1250+ word "articles" or "hubs" or articles. I'll admit that Bill Holland helped me see that... even as he is pursuing his passion to write novels. We each need to find what works, for us. Hope you find your 'home' here, as well!! ;-)
