How to train your Dragon-a cool pet for kids

Updated on April 11, 2010

“How to train your Dragon”. Any of you have seen this movie? I like him very much. This is 3d comedy animation. This movie is from creators of “Lilo and Stitch” a very underestimated animated movie with great, for children, characters.

How to train your Dragon is story about young boy who wants to hunt dragons, but accidentally become friend with a young dragon. Everybody thinks that he is loco. But this mean nothing for him. Hiccup is the son of the Chief. This is protagonist of the movie. “During a raid, Hiccup shoots down a rare dragon called a Night Fury with a bolas cannon that he made but no one believes him. Attempting to get proof Hiccup goes to the woods and finds the downed dragon, but can not bring himself to kill it. Soon after, he frees it and it flies off to a canyon. Stoick enrolls Hiccup in dragon training with the other village youths and leaves with a search party of Vikings to find the Dragon’s Nest, in order to wipe them out and finish the war.” This was a little intro of the movie from wikipedia. For more see the movie. I think the Hiccup has to progressive views for teenagers. And of course its unusual sense of humor not fit in his tribe. This make him different. When Hiccup is become a part of training for dressage of dragons, he saw his chance to prove its capabilities of fighter. But he meet a the wounded dragon. Then everything turned upside down. Hiccup change the future of whole tribe.

In this movie three-dimensional treatment is with the best quality. Scenes in which the young boy dive with his friend dragon along the rugged fjords of viking island is real amazing flight of imagination. And for some people this movie beats some of the scenes from famous with 3d effects "Avatar" if they attacked in the dark surprise. This movie not shine with scenario. The story is classic : A different boy and different dragon become a friends and fights together against traditional agents they own races. Of course in this movie war between dragons and Vikings ends with peace thanks to the protagonist and his dragon friend. This reminds me of “Avatar” of course but I already rod about this movie before. And his power is not about effects. You can see this article in my profile here.

For moms I have to tell one thing Gerard Butler is the voice of Stoick the Vast the chieftain of the Viking tribe.

Children likes this movie because one thing. Can you guess? Every child wants a cool pet and “How to train your Dragon” give him chance to dream for it. Of course kids understanding that all dragons in movie are mythical creatures. But development of imagination is good for children.

This movie have very funny moments and plenty of physical comedy and funny secondary characters. You will laugh out load. More and more. Again and again. Dragons in movie have a very cool looks and names. This movie I required for kids. If I was 20 years younger this movie would be my favorite. Now I just like “How to train your Dragon” very much.
