How did you like the latest Harry Potter movie? (no spoilers please)

Updated on March 30, 2011

Review of Order of the Phoenix

I went and saw the 5th Harry Potter movie the Saturday after it came out. Overall I found it enjoyable, but as usual the book is better. Like so many others have said the movie seems too short. While they could not have included everything from the book, I feel that the movie could have easily been at least 30 minutes longer and still be tolerable to see in a theater. There just seems to be some important aspects missing that are even larger than the things left out of previous movies. The movie also seems to move quite fast and it gives the idea that the events happened in a much shorter time than a year at Hogwarts. Despite that it is definitely worth seeing if you like Harry Potter, although it is probably best to see it as a matinee and not pay full price for this version that is just too short fast paced movie.

I'm a big harry potter fan but I have to say that Half blood prince was horrible the only good parts had to be the frist five minutes of the film and when the professor got killed I was upset when he was murdered but it was still a decent scene. I really hope the 7th movie is better than this if not I'm walking out and demanding my money back I mean it's the last movie so it better be good!

dmaze08: This is about the 5th Harry Potter movie (Order of the Phoenix), which is no longer the latest movie with the 6th having come out this summer. Just wondering if your comment is your reaction to the 5th (Order of the Phoenix) or the 6th (Half-Blood Prince)?

I thought the new potter film was the biggest pile of rubbish i ever saw. the first 5 minutes is awesome and its the only action in the whole film the rest is just rubbish. i read the books and they missed out all the action in the film, i would not recommend anyone to see it at all. boring....boring...boring. david yates sucks as a director. when the film FINALLY finshed after 3 bloody hour's i got straight up with my partner and yelled "THAT WAS RUBBISH" So the whole cinema could hear and i wasnt the only one dissapointed. the adverts made it look so good when nothing happened. IT'S A LOVE STORY thats all it is and what a waste of 3 hours of my life and 7 pound of money. i will not be watching the next film's if david yates is in command. absolutley stupid man for ruining a fantastic book.
