Incredible Hulk TV Lonely Man Theme

In the release of The Incredible Hulk movie on the big screen, we see reminders of the same titled TV series that aired in late 70's. It is safe to say that these movies, both the Ang Lee 2003 Hulk and Louis Letterier 2008 Hulk, would not have been as successful without the Incredible Hulk TV series paving the way to mainstream adoration for the green goliath.

The TV series, much more so than the comic books, took on a Fugitive storyline where Dr David Banner (played by Bill Bixby) ran from town to town in search of a cure for his affliction. His alter ego, the Hulk, was played by bodybuilder Lou Ferrigno. The lack of special effects did not hinder the film makers. Instead, to portray a powerful and extraordinary presence among humans, the Hulk scenes, particularly when there were feats of strength involved, were in slow motion. Maybe cheesy now, but it worked very well back then. Additionaly, the Six Million Dollar Man and the Bionic Woman did exactly the same thing for similar scenes.

Also, not to be forgotten is the Lonely Man theme. This is perhaps one of the catchiest TV tunes ever and it summarizes Dr. Banner's plight with a powerful aura of sadness.

I agree with you with the Norton / Letterier movie. But not with the Bana / Ang Lee version.

Wow, just a really cool hub man, though I don't like the tv series to much, when comparing to movies...
