Review of the Ibanez RG-2570Z Guitar

Review of Ibanez RG-2570Z Team J Craft Guitar

The RG-2570Z: An Amazing Value

Today I will be reviewing the Ibanez RG-2570Z Team J Craft Guitar. I also have attached a video demo of this guitar. These guitars were only made for two years from 2008 and 2010 and come in VSL/Vital Silver and VGLD/Vital Gold. In my opinion this guitar is under rated and an amazing value if you can find one for under $1000. It has the serial number and Team J Craft logo stamped on the back of the headstock. Here’s a heads up to potential Ibanez buyers; if the Team J Craft logo(Usually in silver paint) and the serial number are not on the back of the headstock together, the guitar is a fake. There are a lot of Ibanez fakes made in China out there so, Caveat Emptor. This guitar also has all the case candy including the blue inspection tag with the serial number sticker on the back and inspector’s(6) signatures/stamps on the front. Included is the original Team J Craft molded case with spec book. It features the ZPS-3 tremolo which includes the stop bar and intonation tool incorporated into the trem along with the push in whammy bar. The five piece Wizard neck is fit and finish excellence. The ghost shark fins inlays are far better than the full shark fin paint on the RG-2570E that eventually wears off. This guitar has DiMarzio/IBZ pickups which are ceramic pickups and with the five position selector switch so you can get any sound you might want from grinding metal to smooth jazz. I switched out the Dimarzio/IBZ bridge pickup for a DiMarzio Mo Joe for a little more bite. It is set up with 9’s. I would recommend an aftermarket pickguard. Jeannie’s Pickguards available on E-bay have them available for $68.00+$8.00 shipping. The Vital Silver paint on the RG-2570’s as well as the Vital Gold is a textured paint which has a tendency to chip. If you are looking for an excellent top quality 24-fret Team J Craft guitar that will stand up to years of playing then this is your workhorse.

Here are the specs:

  1. Prestige 5-piece Wizard Walnut Maple neck
  2. 18mm first fret 20mm 12th. fret
  3. 430mm radius Rosewood fretboard
  4. Ghost shark fin inlays
  5. Prestige & Ibanez abalone inlay in the headstock
  6. 43mm nut width
  7. Jumbo frets
  8. Basswood body
  9. Edge Zero Trem ZPS-3
  10. Direct Mount pickups
  11. Dimarzio IBZ humbucker/ceramic neck p.u.
  12. Dimarzio IBZ single coil/ceramic middle p.u.
  13. Dimarzio IBZ humbucker/ ceramic bridge p.u.
  14. Allen wrench components(2) on the back of the headstock
  15. Team J Craft molded with case candy and spec book.
