The Most Intense Movies of All Time

Updated on August 24, 2011

Why do We Love Intense Movies

This page is about intense movies that provokes strong emotions of fear, aversion, or happiness. We watch movies mainly to live vicariously through them, to experience unthinkable events in the safe environment of the movieĀ theatersĀ or our homes.

Here is some of my favorite intense movies that I'm sure you'll love.

Unthinkable (2010)

Samuel L Jackson is superbly believable as interrogator that will do whatever it takes to get the information he needs.

This movie is about the unthinkable scenario of a terrorist nuclear attack. As the interrogation of the terrorist by Mr Jackson unfolds you'll start to realise it is also able the unthinkable threat to civil liberty. Carrie Anne Moss (Trinity in The Matrix) is FBI agent Helen Brody who protest against the use of torture. Michael Sheen (from Frost/Nixon) is the enigmatic terrorist that hides a deadly secret.

This is an intense psychological thriller woven by the talented stellar cast of Samuel L Jackson, Micheal Sheen & Carrie Anne Moss that keeps you guessing & while dreading the next intense escalation as the next scene unfolds.

Movie Trailer of the Remake of "I Spit on Your Grave" (2010)

I Spit on Your Grave (2010)

The original movie also named "I Spit on Your Grave" stirred up a lot of controversy back in 1978. Some have called the original "depraved", others think it "misunderstood".

This intense remake with the same name stars Miss Sarah Butler. In my humble opinion this remake improves on the original in some ways for me with more believable and well developed characters and a better script. The portrayal of all the characters are more believable both in what they say and the reasons why they end up doing the horrible things they did.

This remake also adds some twist that does enhance the feel and flow of the overall movie. I highly recommend this movie to movie lovers that look for a deep involving story with thought provoking intense imageries.
