Great Lesbian Movies
Katherine Heigl and Alexis Bledel in 'Jenny's Wedding'
'Jenny's Wedding' Fundraising Effort
I should possibly start with past movies but I am far too excited about 'Jenny's Wedding' to wait! The movie stars Katherine Heigl as Jenny, a woman who just wants to get married........ to her girlfriend. So she must make the announcement to her rather conservative family who want her to tie the knot but never expected a second bride instead of a Groom. Alexis Bledel of Gilmore Girls fame, plays Kitty, Jenny's fiancé. The premise may not sound ground breaking but in this day and age when the fight for marriage equality has never been more prominent.
The film makers need your help.

My Personal Favourites
I have two movies that I cannot possibly choose between because I love them both dearly. The first is the immensely popular 2005 release 'Imagine Me & You'. Starring Lena Headey and Piper Perabo, this romantic comedy tells the story of Luce and Rachel, two woman who fall in love after one of them gets married. I adore this movie, with its fantastic cast inluding Sue Johnston and Anthony Stewart Head and it's heart warming story of inconvenient, love-at-first-sight and soul mates.
The second contender is 2004's 'Saving Face'. This movie is truly beautiful. There are no words to describe this amazing movie. The story centres on Wilhemina, a chinese-american surgeon who falls in love with Vivian, a beautiful dancer. The movie moves seamlessly between the story of the young lovers and the family that surrounds them, including Wilhemina's 48 year old widowed, pregnant mother.
Imagine Me & You
Of course this is just my opinion. There are many many more then the few I mentioned above. Notable mentions include Loving Anabelle, Kissing Jessica Stein, D.E.B.S and Better Than Chocolate. It is worth noting that with the exception of Imagine Me & You, it is popular opinion that the greatest lesbian movies are independent movies. Whether this because usually any movie with lesbian content seems to cater for the heterosexual men in the audience, discounting any scenes or ideas for romance and just showcasing the sexual aspects.
