The original Saw was the best and it was well written with several twists and turns. In each of the movies Jigsaw sets death traps and gives you a choice.

The Horror of Saw

Personally, I believe that there are more Saw movies will be released but, they claim that their will only seven movies in the series and it's done. As it stands, the story ends after Saw: The Final Chapter which was released in 2010. He did have a protege, to carry on his work.

1. Saw (2004): A patient with a tumor is a terribly vengeful person to either try to let his victims escape his traps and live or they will not make it out of the trips or die. The press have nick named him Jigsaw because he cuts a puzzle piece out of his victim's skin. This film has sudden plot twists similar to The Twilight Zone which keeps your attention. The film ends with Jigsaw alive and his prisoners all dead. He knew he was dying and if he couldn't live, then his captive could not as well. To me, I think the first Saw, is the best but, then again, usually the original movies are better than the sequels.

2. Saw 2 (2005): Jigsaw gets caught by the police on purpose. He has big plans for all of the people involved. He has eight people locked in a house filled with traps and puzzles and one of those people is the son of the head detective, played by Donnie Wahlberg. This film explores the mind of Jigsaw and gives some detail on his motives. Just as in all the Saw movies, Jigsaw provides a tape recorder for each person outlining his plan for them. The ever famous line of.....Would you like to play a game? The kills in this movie are more gruesome than the scenes in the original film. I love Saw II because of the introduction of Donnie Wahlberg.

3. Saw 3 (2006): In this film, Amanda, one of the only survivors of the Saw traps. For this of course, he lets her live. He wants her to join (him) Jigsaw and help him to accomplish his sick games. The game explores the sickness (cancer) that is killing Jigsaw and also needed js surgery performed to save his life. Live or die, Jigsaw wants his legacy to be carried out. Jigsaw does die in the end but, he has his accomplice to carry out his evil plans. The traps in this particular sequel were very inventive and gruesome.

4. Saw 4 (2007): On the sequel, Saw, Jigsaw is dead but, when an autopsy is performed a tape recorder is found in his stomach. Even in death the games continue. The traps in this film are horrific to say the least. I believe that they might even be worse than the previous film traps. Lots of blood and body parts are shown in this version of saw. This film is where it kind of went off kilt and in another direction. These are the best traps in the series. They are quite terrifying to the victims families and the survivors them. Saw uses the victim's real fear or problems they are going thr

5. Saw 5 (2008): Detective Hoffman, like Amanda, is a protege' of the crazy Jigsaw. The people caught in these games are people that Hoffman knew personally. He is so dangerous because as he plays his twisted games he is also still on the police force. He gets to find out information from the law which allowed him to stay two steps ahead of everyone. He was more brutal like Amanda more than Jigsaw because he wanted the innocent to die.

6. Saw 6 (2009): Hoffman continues wreaking havoc on the innocent and then putting fingerprints of another person at the scene. He gets his in the end when he is set up in a trap but, ironically, he escapes the trap. This Saw movie has great music and death traps that are unique but on the other hand it does not hold the suspense like the previous five.

7. Saw 7: The Final Chapter (2010): Finally Hoffman gets what he deserves and is locked in the underground bathroom to die. It is a scene very close to the end of The Original Saw. Also, this film was in 3D, at the movies. Watching the actors in 3D is really which made the traps that much more scary. Even though it seems the saw series is over and, the ending to this film leaves it open for yet another Saw film. In my opinion this is my least favorite of the movies.

These movies are sooo twisted, but my whole family loves horror movies...what can I say? SAW movies seem a little bit more intelligent than your usual slasher films, because there is some thought and plot--but the traps are still very very sick! I think they have gone down hill, as most sequels do. I didn't see the final #7 yet, but chances are there will be a # 8...

One of the goriest movie series I've ever seen. I'm really not comfortable watching it on my own yet in the end, it somehow entertains me. Thank you for sharing!
