Korean Drama Actors and Actresses Who are Married in Real Life
1. Ahn Jae Hyun & Ku Hye Sun
The generous couple
Just this year, our adorable couple Ku Hye Sun and Ahn Jae Hyun have tied the knot on May 21, which also happened to be Couple’s Day in Korea! Isn't it sweet? On their big day, the couple visited the children’s ward at Severance Hospital in Seoul. Their generous donation to the ward, which they decided to give instead of holding a costly wedding, will be used on childhood disease research and to create a rest area. That's very heartwarming! Later, the couple, their parents, and their siblings dined at a formal Korean restaurant in Jongro.
2. Han Jae Suk & Park Sol Mi
They are now a happy family!
The star-studded wedding of our beloved Winter Sonata actress Park Sol Mi to her fellow actor Han Jae Suk took place on April 21, 2013. Her husband, whom she began dating after they starred together in Merchant Kim Man-deok in 2010, is also known for his role in another popular drama, All About Eve. The wedding was held at Aston House at W Seoul’s Walkerhill, with a thousand invited attendees, where some notable actors and actresses were also present. Right now, the two are happily settled with their two children. She gave birth to her first daughter on March 23, 2014 and welcomed her second on November 22, 2015.
3. Yeon Jung Hoon & Han Ga In
Our longtime couple deserves to be happy.
Another cute couple, Yeon Jung Hoon and Han Ga In are happily married since 2005. The couple met on the set of the 2003 drama “Yellow Handkerchief” and started dating. Two years later, they got married. Jung Hoon said that they don’t watch each other’s work, especially the kissing scenes! He’s in “Vampire Prosecutor” and she starred in “The Moon Embracing the Sun.” Our longtime celebrity couple welcomed their first baby in early morning of April 13 2016, at a maternity clinic located in Gangnam, Seoul. The star couple has been through so much after Han's heartbreaking miscarriage in 2014. Right now, Han Ga In plans to focus on raising their child for the time being while Yeon Jung Hoon appeared as a cameo in JTBC‘s “Ms. Temper and Nam Jung Gi,” as the third husband of Ok Da Jung (played by Lee Yo Won).
4. Ji Sung & Lee Bo Young
She won't marry an actor - but he's an exception.
The two stars first met in 2004 while filming “Save the Last Dance for Me” and married in 2013. They both had big hits in 2013 with her successful series “I Hear Your Voice” and his dark drama “Secret.” At first, Lee Bo Young would not date Ji Sung. She declined because he was an actor. However, he told her that he's willing to give up acting just for her. Our lady could not resist with the man's persistence, and eventually, agreed to tie the knot with him. This beautiful couple had their first child in June of 2015.
5. Jang Dong Gun & Go So Young
He didn't remain on the friendzone.
Jang Dong Gun and Do So Young's relationship is a proof that two identities cannot remain friends for life. Sometimes, they'll end up being together as one. The couple met on the set of the film "Love Wind Love Song" in 1999. But it wasn't love at first sight. "Jang Dong Gun and I had known each other since our debuts into the celebrity world and we were the best of friends," said Go So Young. Despite rumors that they were dating, they remained just friends. But then in a case of life-imitating k-drama romance, the rumors became fact. The actors met years later when they both happened to be in Los Angeles. They had dinner together, sparks flew and they became more than friends. The couple dated for two years before going public with their relationship in 2009. They married in 2010 and now have two children.
6. Kwon Sang Wo & Son Tae Young
His love for her never fades.
Kwon Sang Woo and Son Tae Young have been married for eight years now. Sang Woo recently appeared on the program "Happy Together" and said that his heart still flutters every time he sees his wife. (Awww, so sweet!) He married the actress and former Miss Korea in 2008. Both their marriage and careers are going strong. On 2009, Son Tae Young gave birth to their son, Luke, who is nicknamed Rookie. For the first four years, she focused on raising Luke, but has since returned to work and Kwon supports her decision. On 2015, a daughter has been added to this small, happy family.
7. Ki Tae Young & Eugene
Love can be sent through text messages.
Ki Tae Young, who played Kim Dasom's agent in The Eccentric Daughter-in-Law, is married to former SES member and actress Eugene. The couple met on the set of the 2009 drama Creating Destiny. "I became really close to my husband Ki Tae Young while we worked on the same drama together. It was not love at first sight. It wasn't for me, and it wasn't for him either," she said in an interview on the MBC TV program Knee Drop Guru in 2013. But love started to develop when they started exchanging text messages. "Eventually, I asked Ki Tae Young's stylist for his number so we could film the drama successfully. Then, we began texting each other and realized that we could talk about a lot of things together. I realized that he is a really good person." They married in 2012 and have a daughter Ro Hee, born in 2015.
8. Lee Byung Hun & Lee Min Jung
Because she just can't throw away him like a broken TV set.
A blockbuster wedding for blockbuster actors, Lee Byung Hun and Lee Min Jung are married last 2013. Despite hitting their relationship with a scandal concerning Lee Byung Hun, Lee Min Jung kept their marriage on track and their union has produced a one-year-old son. She's determined to remain calm and steady after having the issue with her husband. "Every relationship has problems but you don't throw it away when it's not working. You fix it, just like how everyone used to fix their telephones and television sets. These days, people just throw them away and buy new ones." Right now, her marriage seems to be back on track. Talking about the joys of being a first-time parent, she says: "It's life-changing - our lifestyle, the places we dine at, the time we go to bed. People start talking to you about your child more than the beauty products you are using."
9. Lee Chun Hee & Jun Hye Jin
Age gap doesn't matter. Love does.
Lee Chun Hee and Jun Hye Jin met on the set of the 2009 kdrama "Smile," but it wasn't until the drama ended and he met her again that he realized just how attractive his co-star was. "When I met up with her after the drama was over, I got to know a completely different side of her," said Lee Chun Hee. "I always thought she was pretty but I think it was then that I realized that she was really pretty." In the comedy Smile, they played a couple that slowly developed feelings for each other and fell in love. That's what happened in real life, despite their age difference. He was 30 and she was only 21 when they filmed the drama, but the nine-year age gap never caused any problems in their relationship. "We've never felt the age difference," said Lee Chun Hee.
10. Yoo Ji Tae & Kim Hyo Jin
A beautiful couple inside and out!
Yoo Ji Tae first met actress Kim Hyo-jin in 2003 when they were models for a clothing brand. Soon after, the two became friends while continuously meeting in photo shoots. Their romantic relationship began in 2006, and they were among the very few Korean star couples who openly admitted their dating status. They announced their engagement in August 2011, and subsequently released their stunning pre-wedding photos. Their minimalist invitation was made from environmentally friendly paper and had the number 1,825 written on it, the exact amount of the days the two have spent together as a couple. (How cute!) They were married at the Shilla Hotel in Seoul on December 2, 2011. The ceremony was officiated by the president of World Vision Korea; Yoo and Kim are the organization's honorary ambassadors, and they donated a portion of their monetary wedding gifts to World Vision to help build a primary and middle school in Myanmar. Their first child, a son, was born on July 5, 2014.
11. Rain and Kim Tae Hee
The fairy tale couple
As we welcome the new year, we're also welcoming our 'fairy-tale' newly wed couple! Just like the 'prince' and 'princess' of entertainment world, they're now becoming the king and queen of hearts as they marry each other on January 19, 2017. The Nation's Goddess of Beauty, Kim Tae-hee and the popular singer-actor icon, Bi Rain, finally tied the knot and exchange vows in a private wedding at Gahoe-dong Cathedral. Only family members and few close friends are invited, including Ahn Sung-ki, Psy, Park Joon-hyung (from K-pop boy group, g.o.d.) and Lee Honey (Kim Tae-hee‘s university classmate). After 5 years of dating, we were surprised and excited to learn of their wedding, and pretty sure, many fans are on full-support for this lovely couple. We wish them a happy married life!
That's it for now!
