Lost Boys

A Tribute...Been awhile......

It was a long time ago

I saw the twinkle in your eye

And your wide glowing smile

Like as if you knew

That you belonged on Angel Avenue.

Your highs were high

And your lows were low

One never knows how deep it goes

The smiles manic and the eyes so wide

Was it happiness or an act of pride.

One time you were king

And then the world took a swing

Like at the many others before you

Who knew that their time was done.

I only wish that I could have saved you

But no one can save someone from themselves

I have known others like you

That fought the storm and lost their shirts

But never found the deeper hurt.

Somehow they are still standing

And fighting off the devil

At a whole other level

Like the storm in your head

And the hurricane that left you dead.

My Life And Poetry

Since my mothers death at the age of eight years old, I often wrote poetry to heal my wounds and express the pain that I felt as a child who couldn't cry.

This served as a release and I still do it to this day. There is a lot of sadness out there now and I pray every day that others do not "give up." The entertainment industry is very difficult and the pressures are intense especially after you succeed at such a high level. I will write more about this in a future hub.

Best, GPAGE

9 years ago from California have said a lot in your comment that holds true......some people deal with the pain when they are reminded and welcome new beautiful moments. I do this all of the time until I see something tragic happen (especially with someone I knew). My sadness does not show itself often. I'm trying to explore this in my writing. I am thankful that you are here and special thanks for your many "blessings." Best, G

Thank you for the touching poem G. Makes one reflect on life. It's like a cycle it seems never ending at times. The pains of the past still remained buried deep in the minds of some of us, and from my experience, time does not always heal the wound.

However, life has some beautiful moments it throws our way, beautiful people that cross our paths.

I guess thats why we live on and hope on.

      GodBless you.
