Lil wayne want's to leave his label

Lil wayne recently let the public know through his tweets which can be seen here at 840records, that he is upset with his label situation and wants out saying hes a "prisoner" of creativity. Why the sudden change of heart? Weezy F's been reppin cash money since the beginning. Well apparently along with a list of other label artist, tyga Birdman and his brother "slim" is refusing to release their albums. What!? Unless I'm mistaken Lil Wayne is not only an Icon in music, but in media as a whole. Even if you have never heard of Hip Hop you've heard Lil wayne's name. He could get away with selling an album full of skit's, and I would buy that because Lil Wayne made it. His anger is definately understood seeing as how him and Birdman have been tight for years

Lil Wayne And Birdman

Lil wayne went from calling birdman his dad to saying he wants nothing to do with him. Lil wayne has been rapping with Birdman since he was 8 years old. He was the youngest member of the rap group hot boys. His solo album did extremely successful giving him his own niche in hip hop. After his solo album, lil wayne released hit after hit receiving commercial success and becoming a hip hop legend selling millions of records worldwide. Soon he was joined by labelmate Drake and the two have recorded many Great singles.

Facts

  • Lil Waynes debut album has sold 1.4 million copies to date
  • In 2010 Lil Wayne released a rock album called rebirth
  • On march 8, 2010 Lil Wayne was sentenced to a year in prison which he served at rikers island
  • He had his first Kid when he was 15

Lil wayne's record was supposed to be released december 9th but that, according to him, can't happen since His Label Owner Won't Release It. How can you have a Lil Wayne album ready to hit the streets and decide not to. That was definitely not a good decision and I'm sure Cash Money Will be seeing a financial result

I think All in all Lil Wayne could release an album without any proomotion at all besides maybe a youtube video and he would do just fine for himself. Unfortunately the way Record deals are typically set up, This prevents him from doing that. Basically Cash Money Records owns lil waynes music, not Lil wayne. It is a sad truth to face in the music industry that most of the time you are jst a pawn

Lil Wayne also tought himself how to skateboard after being inspired by a Young kid he saw on the internet and said "if he can do it so can I". He did have quite a few sponsors ntil they dropped him due to a lyrical disagreement.
