List Of Pokemon Films

All Pokemon Films

Pokemon has been around for a long time.  I'm old enough to have witness the birth of it, when I was a kid, but I would have never guessed that it would have exploded into what it is today.  The amount of Pokemon merchandise out there in insane, in addition to the continuing show and 14 (to this day) big Pokemon movies.  The are produced for the the Asian audience, then translated for English and International audiences because of its continuing demand.

When I first started loving Pokemon, there was only 151 Pokemon "known". It was the first season of Pokemon ever, and there was only two English Pokemon games out, Red and Blue. (Apparently there was Green, but it was only released in Asia).  Each game is a different color and I never really understood why.  But the colors get more as you go up the generations. There was a Pokemon rap at the end of each episode to try and get the viewers to remember all 151 Pokemon. I'd like to see them try and do a Pokemon rap now. There is over 600! Kids that are just getting in Pokemon games now into it now have a massive world to explore that has been developing for more that a decade. Along with all the Pokemon, the world has hundreds of items easily recognizable to any Pokemon fan. I don't even know how many different type of pokeballs there are now. But I definitely remember Rare Candies and the evolution stones. There are also different worlds themselves for each new generation of Pokemon. This furthers expands the size of the Pokemon world, on an explorable scale.

The Pokemon films are good ways to keep track of what is going on in the Pokemon universe. New powerful Pokemon are always revealed and all the releases are set within the same year. The newest games and movies this year (2011) are Pokemon Black and White, set for release on the Nintendo DS in early spring/late winter (March).  The newest Pokemon movie will be released a couple months later in Japan, and a it is still TBA for American.  It will be the 14th Pokemon Movie and will be called "Pokemon 14 - Victini and the Black Hero: Zekrom". Although this is the newest movie being work on currently, it is not the newest movie for English audiences.  The release of the English version of "Pokemon 13 - Phantom Ruler Zoroarc" will be released this month (Feburary).  There is usually a lag with the English release of Pokemon films because of the translation and production that needs to happen so English audiences can understand.
