Lost Recap - Part 1 of 2
Kate and Jack
Recapping the series is a sad task, but I have to do it in an
effort to sate the ache in my heart. The ache in my heart is from an unsolved mystery, or is it an unresolved love story? I feel like everything was left up in the air. I
wonder if the producers will consider a continuation in a mini series
for Lost fans?
I get the whole Lost
concept, but I just don't understand why the writers had Jack be so
completely Lost in the end. "Why?...Why?... I'm completely Lost about
Kate - loves Jack. She has always loved Jack. Yes she hooked up with Sawyer, but she never gave Sawyer a second thought after leaving the island. The series finale wraps up with her guiding Jack, and keeping him with her.
Jack - poor Jack, who is this completely lost man at the end of the series? Jack loves Kate, and they are now together, but Jack is dead, and has no idea where he is.
In another life Sawyer is the opposite of what he was previously. Once the con man, is now the law abiding detective. Sawyer was confused about his feelings for Kate when she reappeared. His struggle seemed to be the same struggle of emotions Kate had for Jack.
I suppose his detective status was believable. After all he 1) was living a domesticated life with Juliet for three years 2) stopped calling people names and 3) was head of security for Darma. Sawyer learned to care.
Yes, Jack and Juliet do finally kiss. In fact they even get married. I never saw that coming. Wow, it's crazy how the writers tied everything together at the end, and made these happily ever after pre-endings.
I knew she wasn't such a goody goody when she cheated on Jack with Sawyer in the hospital snack vending room. Juliet did try to die heroically, and she did die very painfully. I guess Sawyer and Juliet have true love.
The new Jacob. Hard to image Hurley in a leadership role but he did it without laughing or complaining. The guy who helps everyone. Is wearing a purple suit in the end. I didn't see Hurely's girlfriend come back from the dead.
Went crazy like the French woman. Unlike the French woman (that Ben took the baby from) Claire disappeared. What do I mean by disappeared? I'm not really sure. One minute she's there, then she's gone, then she's partying with her dead dad. Did Claire disappear or die. I thought Claire was dead, because she was hanging out with her dad (also Jack's dad) who was dead. No wonder Claire went crazy, she didn't know if she was dead or alive.
She wanted revenge for her husband's death. No surprise to me that she became the undercover villain. Sun's father was a major Asian mafia leader and Jin, her husband, worked for her father.
Pretty freaky cool how Sun and Jin's memory of knowing how to speak English came back when Juliet was doing an ultrasound. Deja Vu - totally.
John was murdered and his identity...well his face was stolen. Yes Charles Widmore had reconstructive surgery to have himself look like John. Crazy huh...lost? definitely.
I am still asking myself, "Why did John tell Jack that he (Jack) did not have a son." We saw Jack's son go to a concert with his mother, Juliet, what happened to Jack's son? Because Jack's son is "new" does this mean he's not dead...so he's not there either?
John, what a character. I don't think John ever figured things out...and then Ben kills him.
Jin never dies. Everyone thought he did. Jin actually went back to the past. No twist and turn love interests for Sun and Jin. Does everyone remember Jin beating up Michael in season one?
Formally known as a Mafia Koren Asian Man is not a man to mess with.
Sayid saves Shannon in a dark bar alley. It doesn't appear as Shannon and Boone (sister and brother) have changed in this other life. Sayid and Shannon have sparks that go off and the two of them I think we can assume live happily ever after.
Ben upsets me to much to even write about.
End of Series Cliff Hanger
I'm serious, I really wonder if the producers will consider a continuation in a mini series
for Lost fans? It just doesn't seem right that the show ended in a church with so many questions. The unending might as well have been a cliff hanger. I suppose it could have been worse, they could have all been in the church, and a blinding light created a portal and transported them back to the island. Ben would still be sitting outside of the church...standing up, and screaming furiously that he has been left behind, and he loves the island more than any of them. I am gonna miss watching Lost.
