Who is Mako Kojima and what is she known for?

Mako Kojima is a Japanese pop music singer from Tokyo that is part of the famous girl group AKB48. She is one of its newer members who loves to wear bikinis and that just enhances her overall cuteness factor. The words cute and AKB48 go well together because these girls are supposed to present an image of being cute. Mako Kojima is not related to Haruna Kojima who was chosen as the center for the song Heart Ereki. Mako Kojima made her start with AKB48 in July 2012 as part of its 14th generation. Kojima was born on May 30, 1997. She was featured as one of the members in the music video for the song Labrador Retriever along with such recognizable faces as Anna Iriyama. The girls were seen relaxing on the beach in Hawaii just having a great time. This article is a look at what has happened in her life as a member of pop music girl group AKB48.

Mako Kojima is still a member of AKB48 even if Minami Takahashi is no longer a member

AKB48 has a long history dating back to 2005. One of the few original members still left in the group was Minami Takahashi. Takahashi finally graduated from AKB48 after being a member since October 2005! So now there are no more original members left in AKB48. This is unless we count Haruna Kojima who has been in the group since 2006. Note: even Haruna Kojima has graduated from AKB48 but Mako is still in the group and she loves to have fun! Mako once sang a rap song in order to have fun.

A Brief summary of Mako Kojima's career

Kojima’s single debut with AKB48 was the 28th single called UZA. She has also been a member for the singles Eien Pressure, So Long!, Sayonara Crawl, Koisuru Fortune Cookie, Heart Ereki, and Mae shika Mukanee. Kojima was transferred to Team K in February 2014 after a huge group shuffle. Kojima sings on the AKB48 albums 1830m and the best-selling 5th album Tsugi no Ashiato. During her appearance in bikinis, Mako wore a bikini that was blue and white and that made her look very sexy. Japanese culture is obsessed with cuteness and Mako should win over lots of fans in the coming years. Mako Kojima is the next new idol to follow Rina Kawaei. Rina Kawaei of course had her popularity increase when she appeared in photo shoots with former member Yuko Oshima.

A few significant events that have happened in Mako Kojima's time in AKB48

AKB48 at the beginning of 2012 had to deal with a few members getting into trouble because of mistakes that they made. Rumi Yonezawa and Natsumi Hirajima had to resign from the group due to scandals. But after that, things settled down. In March 2012, it was announced that Atsuko Maeda would be graduating from the group after joining them back in December 2005. Maeda was seen as a fan favorite and darling because people really loved her. Maeda who is also known as Acchan would graduate from the group in August 2012. She is now a solo singer and actress having released her 4th solo single Seventh Chord. In December 2012, Tomomi Kasai announced that she would be graduating from AKB48. And then, a few more high profile members Sayaka Akimoto and Mariko Shinoda would graduate from AKB48. Akimoto is a member of the sub-unit called Diva which announced that they would be disbanding sometime in 2014 due to a lack of time to dedicate to the work in the group.

What is AKB48 and how can the fans get tickets to see them

AKB48 is now so popular that they are like a cultural phenomenon in Japan. I would say that they are even more popular than the Beatles were in the UK. AKB48 has their own theater in the section called Akihabara which is a district in Tokyo. The group hold theatrical performances every day and they are so popular that fans who want to get tickets to see them have to get them through a lottery system. The concept of the group is “idols you can meet.” They hold the record of having the highest single sales of any female group on the Oricon music charts. Kojima will remember even further success for the group because she was a member when AKB48 sold over 36 million singles by December 2015!

Why I really like Mako Kojima

Mako Kojima is definitely one of the hottest new faces on the Japanese music scene and she has a bright future ahead of her. As of 2015, Mako Kojima is now a member of AKB48’s Team 4. She sang on the album Tsugi no Ashiato and is also a member for AKB48’s latest album called Koko ga Rhodes da, Koko de Tobe! This album is the follow up to Tsugi no Ashiato which was released on January 22, 2014. As an interesting side note, Mako also sings on the song Aozora Café (Blue Sky Café) which is one of my favorite AKB48 songs of all time!
