'Married at First Sight' Season 5 Couple Welcomes First Child Three Weeks Early
The experts matched Ashley Petta and Anthony D'Amico in Season 5 of Married at First Sight that aired on Lifetime. Of the three couples, Ashley and Anthony are the only ones from that season to remain married.
Ashley talked about wanting to start a family as soon as she and Anthony tied the knot after meeting for the first time at the altar. However, Anthony did not initially share her feeling. In fact, some viewers thought Ashley's insistence on having a baby so soon might be a deal breaker for Anthony. He was never against having a family, but he didn't think he they should have a baby right away. He reasoned that they should get to know each other before starting a family. Eventually, Anthony changed his mind, and he and Ashley agreed to start their family.
Ashley's pregnancy was confirmed by People magazine last August. She and Anthony were very excited to share the good news with everyone. They said in a statement that having a baby would make their dreams come true.
Ashley and Anthony welcomed a baby girl on Saturday, January 12 at 3:34 a.m. She was born three weeks earlier than the couple expected. She weighed 4 pounds and,14 ounces. The parents named their daughter Mila Rose D’Amico, according to People magazine.
The 30-year-old new mother told the magazine that she and Anthony, 33, never knew they could love their "little peanut" so much. Ashley said Mila Rose is perfect in every way and holding her for the first time was the most amazing moment of her life. She added that watching Anthony caring for Mila makes her love him even more.
The couple knew they were having a daughter before she was born, but Anthony admitted they didn't have a preference. They just wanted a healthy baby. Now that she has been born, the parents can't wait to show Mila Rose to the world.
Other "Married at First Sight" Babies
Last October, People magazine discovered that Ashley Petta and Anthony D'Amico were not the only Married at First Sight expectant parents. Danielle Bergman and Bobby Dodd from Season 7 were also expecting a daughter later in the year.
Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner, Season 1
Jamie Otis, 32, and Doug Hehner, 35, met and got married on the first season of the reality show Married at First Sight. Initially, the couple had a hard time bonding. However, they pressed forward to save their marriage and are very happy. The couple shared how they overcame difficulties in a spin-off series, Married at First Sight: The First Year.
On July 5, 2016, Doug and Jamie announced they were expecting their first child. Jamie suffered a miscarriage 17 weeks later. They named their son Johnathan Edward. On January 31, 2017, Jamie and Doug announced that they were expecting again. Their daughter Henley Grace who was born on August 22, 2017.
On Christmas Day 2018, Jamie and Doug announced on their new podcast that they were expecting their third child. In January 2019, Jamie announced that she had experienced a second miscarriage.
Shawniece Jackson and Jephte Pierre, Season 6
Shawniece Jackson and Jephte Pierre got married when they first met at the altar during Season 6 of Married at First Sight. Their daughter, Laura Denise Pierre, was born on August 30, 2018
Shawniece and Jephte had some ups and down on the show, but they are the only couple who remained married from that season.
Molly Duff and Jonathan Francetic got married that season, but they decided to get a divorce. It is interesting that 29-year-old Jonathan is dating 41-year-old Dr. Jessica Griffin, the psychologist and marriage counselor on the show who matched and counseled Molly and Jonathan.during the eight-week social experience.
Danielle Bergman and Bobby Dodd, Season 7
Danielle Bergman and Bobby Dodd married when they met at the altar during Season 7. They are the only ones who stayed married after the season ended. Danielle and Bobby are expecting a baby girl in 2019.
