Updated on April 8, 2012

What is the Best Marvel Comic Movies To Dates (2012)?

Marvel Comic has brought us some of the most well known and classic characters including, Spiderman, Iron Man, Green Lantern, The Hulk…etc. As these characters grew more famous, they were eventually brought to the movie theater. Here is the list of the top Marvel Comic Movies that was brought to the big screen.

Iron Man

1) Iron man

Iron Man is a fantastic movie if you have not watched it yet. Its story line is a little different from the comics. I believe the original story took place during the Vietnam War and then it was changed to the Gulf War, and later on it was the war in Afghanistan. “Tony” Stark is a billionaire playboy whose company makes weapons for the United States. During one of his weapon demonstration in Afghanistan, he gets ambushed by a terrorist group. They forced him to develop a new weapon but instead, Tony Stark spends his time developing an armor suit that would both keep him alive (the ambush left some metal shards in his body that is slowly moving toward his heart) and help him escaped.

Iron Man is one of those stories that you have to watch. A genius billionaire uses his wits to escaped capture. If not for the storyline, you have to watch for Robert Downey Jr. He acted perfectly for a genius playboy and while he seems like he is always joking around, he knows the seriousness of his illness and his responsibilities.

2) Spiderman 2

Second on the list is Spiderman 2. Continuing the story of the original Spiderman, Peter Parker is currently in college. He is struggling with the responsibilities of being a crime fighter and his personal life. He see his true love (Mary Jane) is with someone else, his aunt is losing her home, and his best friend wants to kill his crime fighting persona. And if all the stress is not enough, he is beginning to lose his superpower. Will Peter Parker continue to be Spiderman?

The villain in this movie is Octavius, a genius scientist whose experiment in nuclear fusion gone wrong caused him to change into an 8 arms, mad scientist. What is so intriguing in this movie is the gripping ideas of self sacrifice. Would you sacrifice your own happiness for the better of man kind? A must see movie for all Spiderman fans.

3) Spiderman

The original story of how Peter Parker got his powers and what compel him to become a crime fighter. Bitten by a radioactive spider, Peter Parker wakes up to find that he has some super human power. To test the extend of his new power, Parker does some funny things to show what he can’t and can do. Using his brand new power, he enters a cage match and beat the best fighter they have but it turn out he beat the guy too fast. So he only got a quarter of original deal. Just as he was exiting the manager’s office, another person enters and robbed the manager. Parker who is still angry about his pay lets the crook escaped. Unknowing to Parker, the robber stole his uncle’s car and killed him too. “With great powers, come great responsibilities”, a phrased that still echo through Parker’s mind and compel him to fight crime.

Great story, okay actors, and some really funny scene. If you ever watch any Spiderman movies, it always has some deep meaning to it that makes it worth watching.

The Dark Knight

4) The Dark Knight

If you have not seen this movie, you got to watch it. I always love Batman and his way of deal street justice, but in this movie I love the Joker. The actor that portrays the Joker is Heath Ledger and he did it perfectly. The joker is a “psychopathic, mass murdering, schizophrenic clown with zero empathy” as described by Ledger. In order to get into this mindset, Ledger rented a hotel room and lived there for a month. He wrote a diary and spends hours getting his voice right for the role. I am pretty sure he got into his own little world.

Guess all this efforts pay off because when you watch this movie, you are just captivated by the Joker. Witty, smart, and so crazy is the Joker. If you are not a Batman fan, you will still enjoy this movie. Sadly enough, Ledger died while he was overdose with drugs, while this movie was still in editing. So enjoy because this is the last movie that Ledger was in.

Personally! The Dark Knight is my favorite pick! The acting, direction and screenplay have an unmatched precision in the movie!!

It really depend on personal preferences. I saw Captain American but I didn't think the movie was that good to be honest. The acting just wasn't as good as Iron Man or The Dark Knight in my opinion but again I think it is just personal preferences.
