Margaret Minnicks has been an online writer for many years. She writes articles that are interesting to her readers.

Both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been very vocal about wanting to start a family soon. During their engagement interview last November, they said the same thing. They have not backed down on their desire to expand their family.

Kensington Palace announced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expecting their first child in the spring of 2019.

It is surprising that the announcement about Meghan's pregnancy comes just hours after she and Prince Harry landed in Australia to begin their first royal tour as husband and wife. The headlines of the pregnancy will be shared along with news of their 16-day tour over four countries and at least 76 official engagements. No doubt everyone will be watching and report on Meghan's fashion choices more so now than ever before.

Announcement From Kensington Palace

Kensington Palace announced in a statement on Monday, October 15 that Prince Harry, 34, and Meghan, 37, are having a baby. This confirmation comes after Meghan has had a 12-week scan. The results are positive and Meghan is feel great.

Kensington Palace said in a statement that Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and The Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019. The statement also read that the royal couple has appreciated the support received from around the world since their wedding on May 19, 2018. The statement ended by indicating that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are delighted to share the happy news with the public.

Reactions to the Royal Baby News

Of course, Prince Harry and Meghan are delighted about the news that there is a baby on the way.

The baby's great-grandmother Queen Elizabeth and great-grandfather Prince Philip welcome the good news. Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, are also excited about having a fourth grandchild.

Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, is looking forward to having her first grandchild. She said, "I'm very happy." It was reported earlier that Doria is moving to London. Now she has a very good reason to do so.

Prince William and Kate Middleton, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are delighted that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expecting a baby. The child will be the first cousin to their three children, Prince George, 5, Princess Charlotte, 3, and 6-month-old Prince Louis.

People from around the world are congratulating and sending well wishes to the happy couple about having a baby.

As soon as the announcement went out, Prime Minister Theresa May congratulated the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on the happy news. She wished them the best.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby sent his congratulation five months after marrying the couple in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle while the world watched. After expressing his joy and congratulating the couple, he said prayers are for them in the months ahead.

16-Day Tour

Harry and Meghan are currently in Sydney, Australia where they have many official duties scheduled, including Harry's involvement in the Invictus Games. They will travel to Fiji, Tonga and end their tour in New Zealand on October 31.

It was thought earlier that Meghan would wait until after the tour was over before getting pregnant because of the risk of Zika infection in Fiji and Tonga, according to the CDC.

Even though the mosquito-borne Zika virus is dangerous, the tour schedule will not change from its original plan. However, the couple has been advised by doctors and is taking all precautions to have a healthy baby that will be seventh in line to the throne of England whether it will be a boy or girl.

Are you happy about the news that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are having a baby?
