Meghan Markle’s Dad Requesting One Thing From Her

Updated on January 4, 2019

Margaret Minnicks has been an online writer for many years. She researches and shares remedies for using certain products for illnesses.

Thomas Markle, father of Meghan Markle, just can't stay out of the news. He feels a need to keep talking to the press about his royal daughter. The latest news is that he wants one thing from the Duchess of Sussex.

In an interview with The Sun this week, the 74-year-old former television lighting director shared the one request he has for his famous daughter.

According to the interview on Monday, Markle was very specific in his request. He first revealed how he took care of his mother for the last five years of her life. He wants Meghan to do the same for him in his last years.

Not Asking For Money

Thomas explained that he is not talking about wanting money from Meghan. Rather, he is talking about her taking care of him in other ways. He added that he wants a father-daughter relationship because that's important to him.

He gave examples of how the Duchess of Sussex could foster that relationship. Markle said it could mean sending him birthday cards, Christmas cards, and spending time with him on holidays.

Going About It the Wrong Way

Markle might be going about it the wrong way if he wants a healthy relationship with his daughter. He has been speaking to the press about her. He admitted to lying to Prince Harry about not staging the photos that the paparazzi took just before the royal wedding on May 19, 2018.

He admitted that when Prince Harry warned him about speaking to the press, he hung up on him. It doesn't seem like Thomas Markle is doing things to get in good graces with his daughter and his son-in-law whom he has never met.

No Response from Kensington Palace

So far, Kensington Palace has not responded to any of Markle's interviews with the media. Since it has happened so often, there are reports that the Palace is planning a strategy to get Meghan's father to cease and desist.

Kensington Palace has not stepped in before because it has a policy of not responding to personal matters. So much has gone on with Markle speaking to the press that the Palace is getting to the point where it will go against the usual rule and deal with the personal matter it has been avoiding, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Not Because Meghan is Royal

People are beginning to note that Thomas Markle's behavior is not just because his daughter is now a royal. This is not the first time he has done things to get Meghan's attention. Earlier this week, the Daily Mail reported that Markle's issues didn't just start after his daughter began dating Prince Harry.

According to reports, Meghan's father did not attend her first marriage when she married movie producer Trevor Engelson in Jamaica in 2011. Meghan's mother, Doria Ragland, attended both weddings.

Meghan Has Had a Lot on Her Shoulders

It is very unfortunate that the father will not allow his daughter to enjoy her marriage in peace. She has had to deal with a lot since her engagement. She had to be baptized into the Church of England. She had to take intensive defensive and hostage training.

She is still in her six months of royal duchess training as she is learning the traditional rules. Meghan had to make some major adjustments that were unique to her. She tried very hard to land a starring role as an actress. She had a leading role on the legal drama Suits for seven seasons, only to quit it for love. She had a blog, The Tig, on social media which she also had to give up.

Needless to say, the young woman has been dealing with a lot. Whenever we see her in photos, she is always smiling even though she had a lot on her shoulders.

I think i thank Meghan's father and her half sister to say quite about their private thoughts to themself and out in the public for money. Meghan has a new life with Prince Harry. With that new response she has to fulfill. She needs to find her own place in that family. God bless them
