Memorable Movie Yelling Scenes

Updated on June 18, 2013

My Favourites

Some of the most memorable scenes in movies are of yelling. Some are yelling for good reasons and others because they are feeling frustrated, upset or any other emotion. Some of these scenes really make you feel what the person on the screen is feeling and that's what makes them so memorable.

Romeo & Juliet - Leonardo Dicaprio is absolutely fantastic in the scene where he shoots Tybalt for killing Mercutio. Such an amazing actor. You can see and even feel the anger in his eyes and his shouting. This is a scene that I will never forget.

Garden State - This is a great, quirky love story that I absolutely adore! Starring funny man Zach Braff with the beautiful Natalie Portman, it's a very cute story. The yelling scene is just perfect. When I see it, it makes me feel happy. The three of them screaming together, out on a grey and gloomy day and just letting it all out, is awesome! If you enjoy a quirky romance story and you haven't seen this yet, then I'd definitely recommend it.

Mystic River - This yelling scene is the one that makes me feel the most. It's such amazing acting on Sean Penn's part, that to me it actually seemed so real. What a talented person to be able to pull off a scene such as this and to make us be able to feel his pain. This scene is him as a father screaming to find out if it's his daughter that has been found murdered. Police are trying to hold him back and he is shouting at the top of his lungs and trying to barge his way through everyone to get to his daughter. It's a really heart-breaking scene.

Jerry Maguire - One of the more funny yelling scenes but it's one that we'll never forget! Tom Cruise as Jerry Maguire shouting "Show me the money!" Such a great movie in so many ways, but the first thing people usually think of when they hear "Jerry Maguire" is that very line in the shouting scene. A great movie if you want to watch something romantic but funny and enjoyable at the same time, Jerry Maguire never fails to please.

300 - Gerard Butler delivers an almighty yelling scene in this awesome action-packed movie. He really pulls off the whole angry, tough-guy scene superbly. His anger and leadership are evident when he cries out "This is Sparta!!" This movie has plenty of brilliant battle scenes and was enjoyable, especially for the visual effects. Gerard Butler was the perfect person to play this part, he did a great job.

Home Alone - Who can forget the hilarious Home Alone movies and Kevin's trademark yell. What is a kid to do when he's left to his own devices? After his family forget him and leave on a trip, Kevin has the house to himself but is soon trying his best to keep out two stupid robbers. Home Alone is a great family movie because the adults can enjoy it just as much as the kids. There's also a great scene of one of the robbers screaming. Great movie this one :)

How about Alfred Hitshcock's Phycho? I know it was a scream rather than a shouting match but it was short, famous and effective.
