Michael Baez was originally born Bronx, New York on June 15 1970. At any early age he was involved in the typical New York actives. With no advanced technology as there is today, Mike was into the exemplary male things such as cars, music, biked and girls. Around the age of 8, he participated in gymnasts at his school. He was the top gymnast in the school and was always told he should pursue it as a career. Fast forward 20 years later, his gymnast moves helped him a lot when he began taking Jiu jitsu classes at Valente Brothers Gracie Jiu jitsu in Miami. With help from his teachers, dedication and constant training Mike is now at top level of jiu jitsu. As he got older, Mike become recognized for being the crazy BMX rider in his neighborhood. He was the only one in the town to pop wheelies, and other tricks; he even got the New York sanitation build out a custom ramp for him with dirt so he can practice his tricks. Although he loved gymnastics, Mikes true passion was BMX riding, that was his original planned career.

Throughout his teenage years Michael got involved in cars. His love for BMX turned in to his love for cars. He would spend hours on taking them apart and adding his own details. Ridding Choppers was what he was known for – that is where he got his nickname that everyone calls him by today “Chop”. Growing up in the 70’s and 80’s in the Bronx he was exposed to every car you can think of since drugs were a big epidemic during that era. Of course growing up in the Bronx, he was neighbors with some of the hottest celebrities today. Joseph Antonio Cartagena, better known to the public as “Fat Joe” was a good friend of Mike and Eif Rivera- Michaels partner of his production company “Chopped up Productions”. Fat Joe was actually the first person to give Mike and Eif their first video to shoot.

In 2010 Michael Baez and his partner Eif Riviera decided to start their own production company. Eif always had an interest in videography and Mike also had a creative eye. One day Eif and Mike decided to buy equipment to play around with. Being friends for almost 20 years –they had the idea to start an in-house production company just the two of them. Wanting to keep their circle tight and work with friends they grew up with like fat joe, they started small and were a big hit. From then on the videos kept coming in, Chopped up Productions has produced some of the biggest videos to date such as “Figure it out” French Montanna. Kanye West & Nas, “I’m the man”- 50 Cent Ft Chris Brown, “Don’t Mind” - Kent Jones ft DJ Khaled, not to mention 2016 Best Hip Hop Video nominee “All the Way up” – Fat Joe, Remy Ma Feat French Montana. In 2014, Michael decided to step out of behind the camera and tested out his skills in front of it taking on a role in the highly rated VH1 Show “Mob Wives”. His cameo role as “Delicious”, playing Renee Graziano’s love interest topped the charts that year. He also appeared in the “I Got it” video for Ashanti has her bad boy – eye candy.
