Schumacher out of his coma and is responsive

Michael Schumacher has been released from the hospital where he has been lying in a coma for the past 6 months.

His family have said that he responded to them and they have now moved him to a clinic for rehabilitation.

Michael will have to undergo physical therapy, occupational therapy and is apparently showing signs of strength and will have a speedy recovery.

His family do not want the press involved and they have not released a statement in order to get Michael back to health as peacefully and quickly as possible.

Michael Schumacher in a medically induced coma

It has been five months that former Formula 1 champion, Michael Schumacher has been in a medically reduced coma after having a skiing accident, whilst on holiday with his family.

Neurologists have said that it is not looking good as six months is the longest a person can be in a medical coma.

It is not looking good for Schumacher and should he come out of the coma, it will be with mild impairments or serious disabilities.

Although he has shown signs of consciousness, Michael will have to learn to speak, walk and eat again as he will be coming into a world that he doesn't know anymore.

Family have thanked everyone for their support and have not elaborated on Schumachers condition but they do have hope that he will regain consciousness.

Michael's wife Corinna and brother Ralf, have been consulting brain surgeons around Europe as they have had very little enthusiasm from the French doctors, who say that it is unlikely that Schumacher will recover from his injury, remaining in a vegetative state.

Italian journalists have reported that Schumacher has been breathing without assistance, however, the Schumacher spokesperson has denied this.

Michael Schumakers Rehab

As he has been in a coma for the past 6 months, Michael needs to have a lot of physio therapy.

He was taken care of in the hospital where the medically induced coma, saved his life.

They moved him around everyday and Michael had a soft mattress that prevented bed sores.

The rehabilitation that Schumacher will need is to be able to talk, walk and rethink again.

Speech and muscles would be affected by the coma and Michael will have to learn to do all of these things again.

Patience is not something that his family are short of and the doctors a therapists are the best at what they do.

Michael, Corinna and family

Schumacher married Corinna nineteen years ago and in an interview, stated that they had never had a serious fight in all their years of marriage.

They keep their private life as private as possible and have only done one exclusive interview and photo shoot.

Michael said that they are so well matched as they have the same values and this has kept them strong.

For their 10th wedding anniversary, Michael bought Corinna a ranch in Texas where she has become a European champion of "reigning."

Corinna has been supportive of Michael's career and has managed to keep up with his hectic pace in life.

She has been at his side, along with his brother throughout the six months of his induced coma and with the help of Schumacher's brother, they have transported Michael to a clinic closer to home for him to rehabilitate.

They have two children and 5 dogs, including one that was a stray.

Michael and Corinna grew up in the same part of West Germany and met at a party in 1991.

They are wealthy and have many holiday homes throughout Europe.

The Texas ranch is where they love to go and escape the world as well as take care of the animals, which has made Corinna a fortune of her own to add to the family billions.
