Most Memorable Movie Heroes
Heroes from the Big Screen
There is a protagonist in every movie but not every movie has what would be classified as a hero. You don't have to wear a fancy costume to be a hero or have superpowers but you do have to help people. Here are some heroes that really stand out:
John Rambo, played by Sylvester Stallone
Rambo is the quintessential bad-ass and one of the all-time greatest heroes. We first meet him as the sole survivor from his special forces unit, making an attempt to return to life as a civilian. People in town are super mean to him and the cops start harassing him for really no apparent reason whatsoever. His training kicks in and he shows how truly not to be F'd with he really is. In every movie, this dude takes a beating like a champ, doesn't ever really ask for trouble but handles it when it comes his way and generally just kicks some serious ass. He's all about loyalty to his country and protecting those who can't protect themselves. He's a true hero through and through.
Wolverine, played by Hugh Jackman
This guy is JACKED and even though he has a 'I don't care attitude', he will always help out someone in need. He's reluctant to view himself as a hero but has all the characteristics for it. Plus, he has claws and simultaneously heals immediately after being wounded - some pretty nifty skills for a hero to have. When he's not fighting alongside the X-men, he still saves people.
Bryan Mills, played by Liam Neeson
He has a very particular set of skills and he's not afraid to use them. This guy is an amazing hero. When his daughter is abducted by sex traffickers, everyone tells him its impossible to find her. That doesn't stop him. He kills and fights and saves the day, doing whatever it takes to bring his daughter home. If anyone gets 'Taken', this is the guy you want looking for you.
William Wallace, played by Mel Gibson
He gives one of the best motivational movie speeches ever and leads his people towards freedom. And, he wears some pretty cool war paint while he's doing it. He's not afraid to die for the greater good and makes that fact very well known. Braveheart is such a good war movie and Mel Gibson is fantastic as the heroic William Wallace.
Alice, played by Mila Jovovich
I am a huge fan of The Resident Evil movies but they wouldn't have been the same without this fabulous heroine leading them. Even when Alice doesn't have her powers, she still kicks major ass. Throughout the course of the movies she teams up with a lot of different people and saves more. The Umbrella Corporation doesn't stand a chance.
Django, played by Jaime Foxx
There are no boundaries when it comes to Django saving his wife. He's a natural shot with a gun and with a little help from Dr. Shultz, played by Christoph Waltz, there aren't many things that get in his way of saving his beloved. The cast of this film was terrific and Jaime Foxx really steals the show as the dynamic hero Django - the 'D' is silent.
Leonidas, played by Gerard Butler
This guy leads a ripped crew of 300 Spartans to defend their city from the evil, (and douchey) King Xerxes. He also doesn't take kindly to messengers being rude to his wife. Butler shouts so many interesting motivational quotes in this film, it's hard not to get amped up just watching it.
Batman, played by Christian Bale
Don't get me wrong, I don;t think Ben Affleck is an awful Batman, I just like Bale's voice and demeanor more. Batman is probably one of the most iconic super heroes ever because he doesn't even have super powers - just a shit ton of money. But, he uses his money for good, investing in sick gear that helps him fight crime and takeout whatever new threat comes to Gotham city.
Captain America, played by Chris Evans
You can't NOT love the Captain. He stands for so much - freedom, liberty, justice ect. He's a likable guy that just wants people to be free, safe and happy. He really does deserve to lead The Avengers because his moral compass is never rickety. The guy always does the right thing, even if it means being considered a criminal.
Quicksilver, played by Evan Peters
Whenever there is a super serious threat, this guy shows up and saves everyone. I love this character! With the power of super-speed and a cool playlist, he always manages to get people & mutants out of harms way. It's kind of disappointing that nobody ever really gives him credit for literally saving everyone, but, he's a hero and that's just what heroes do.
Professor X, played by Patrick Stewart & James McAvoy
He's a really good guy. Even though he has the power of total mind control, he never uses it for bad. Whatever the obstacle, Professor X never loses hope. He gives the best advice and always sticks to what he believes in. He's a morally strong hero and a great leader.
Tallahassee, played by Woody Harellson
I just couldn't leave him out. He's hilarious and he's always saving Columbus's ass. His mother always told him he'd be good at something, he just didn't know it would be killing zombies. He's such a fun hero character. Give that man a twinkie!
