Movie Review: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
Movie Review: Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince
My wife and I went to see "Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince" this weekend. This is the 6th film in the Harry Potter series and we have seen all of them.
My wife has read all of the Harry Potter books, I have not read any. As usual, my wife complained that key parts were left out of the movie and some things were changed but she still liked it. In my opinion, the movie was okay but it was easily the worst of the 6 films.
The special effects were still good, I still think it is cool to see wanted posters and pictures in the newspapers that move. The problem I had with the movie was that it didn't seem to have as much action as the previous films. It seemed like most of the action was saved for the end of the film. There was also too much time spent on the budding romances of Harry, Ron and Hermoine.
My review, on a scale of 1-10 would be about a 5.5 or 6. It is a decent movie but I would not pay full price to see it. If you can wait for the DVD, I would suggest that is the best thing to do. Wait and rent it from Blockbuster or from your local video store. If you can not wait until the DVD comes out or if you like the movie theater experience, then I suggest going to a matinee or waiting for a discount like Kerasotes Five Buck Club.
