Summary of the movie "2012"

The movie "2012", which hit theaters in 2009, is an action/thriller, science-fiction disaster movie about the end of the world as predicted based on the Mayan calendar. It stars such popular, talented actors as John Cusack, Danny Glover, Oliver Platt, and Amanda Peet.

After an American geologist goes to see the president of the United States about the shift in the temperature of the Earth's core due to a massive solar flare, the US government and leaders of other world nations begin a secret project that focuses on the survival of everyone on Earth.

Meanwhile Jackson Curtis, a science fiction writer and part time limousine driver for a Russian billionaire, meets a radio show host in Yellowstone National Park and sees a video about hypothesizing that polar shifts and the Mesoamerican Long Count Calendar will result in the end of the world (the phenomenon of 2012). After getting back home and witnessing an increase in seismic activity in San Andreas Fault, he suspects that something is terrible wrong rents an airplane in order to rescue his two children Noah and Lilly, his ex-wife Kate and her boyfriend away from the extreme natural elements that have befallen on Los Angeles, and later other parts of the United States and even the rest of the world..

While the government tries to secretly deal with the catastrophic events of Mother Nature that are spreading throughout the world millions of people end up losing their lives due to devastating tsunamis and earthquakes... The continents shift from their original positions on planet on Earth and as people run for safety the world seems to be coming to an end.

Movie Review of "2012"

I went to see the movie "2012" in theaters and it was an amazing movie in my opinion. The storyline and the special effects kept me on the edge of my seat until the very end of the movie. I was glued to the screen the whole time and not once did I give out a yawn or lose interest in the film.

I was gone from my current place and time and was transported into the world of "2012". I was living the storyline of each character. I felt their sorrow and their fears. I felt their hopes for survival, their struggles to make it out alive, and sometimes their surrender when it seemed as if there was no way they could save themselves from the catastrophic disaster that had taken over their existence.

The movie moved me in many ways and took me on a thrilling ride for the 158 minutes of its running. When it came to an end and the credits started to roll I did not make a run for the exit. I stayed glued to the screen listening to American Idol's Adam Lambert sing Time for Miracles. It was the perfect song and he was the perfect choice to sing this song. His vocals were filled with passion, power, and a bit of theatricality. I am a huge Adam Lambert fan and this song is one of my favorites.I have listened to Time for Miracles many times and I am moved by the vocals, the lyrics, and the beautiful melody that make up this unforgettable song every sing time.

"2012" is one of my favorite movies and I think it is one of the best movies of all-time. It is a movie that will never be forgotten and in my opinion will live on from generation to generation.
