Movie review on Real Steel

Updated on February 5, 2012

Real Steal, when I first saw the cover, it piqued my interest. I read that it was almost like the movie Rocky but only with robots. So I decided to check the movie out. I finally watched it and it was worth seeing.

It is about how an ex-boxer who uses robots to fight and he seems to not be winning as much as he used too. Charlie (Hugh Jackman) finds out that his ex-girlfriend who has recently died left his son with her sister. So he agrees with his sons aunt to keep the boy for the summer and to return him to them after they come back from Italy. They go on a road trip together and while they are on the trip, his son finds an old dumped robot which he fixes up so he can start to fight. At first Charlie really doesn't think this steel robot, Atom, will make it through the fights but with the boxing lessons he gives the robot, they win many fights. After a fight breaks out one night, Charlie decides to protect his son and return him to the boys aunt. He then realizes that he doesn't want to give up and they continue on to the fight of their life against the great Zeus.

This is a good family movie and I can say very enjoyable. It has action, a very good story plot. I am not always in favor of alot of boxing movies but this is a wonderful movie. For those who want to check out this movie, it is worth watching.
