List Creation Overview

For as long as I can remember, I have loved movies. Action and romantic comedies are my favorite. I enjoy being taken away from reality and into the world of the movie I am watching, even if only for a few hours. The feeling you have after a movie that touched you in multiple ways is euphoric. It’s almost like a fantastic dream that you don’t want to wake up from and when you do you are a little confused between reality and the dream.

I prefer to watch movies at home where I control the remote, but some movies must be seen in theatre, specifically action movies. The feeling is just not the same at home. When watching a movie, good or bad, I like to do so in complete silence. There is no reason to comment, speak or otherwise make noise during the movie. Save it for the conversation after. This may seem extreme, but I take watching movies very seriously. Being serious about movies also transitions into my movie collecting.

I own over 300 DVDs, they are sorted by leading actor or in some cases by my favorite actor. Most may consider this excessive, but once I have seen a good movie I want to have access to it anytime. In addition, I want to own the entire series of that movie.

Not only do I love movies in general, but I like to group my movies into top lists. For example, top five movies, top five series, top five actors, and more. For me it is a great conversation piece and it’s interesting to hear someone’s list. I believe you can tell a lot about someone by their favorite movies.

I have compiled my lists of favorites by top five. Obviously, this is not all inclusive. Many actors and movies were omitted, due to falling outside of my top five for that particular category. You may be thinking why not just create a list of your top ten, etc., my only problem with that is it would constantly be changing. My top five lists have remained fairly the same over the years. The only time they change is if a newer movie is epic enough to require some shifting which rarely happens. How can a movie be in your top five of all time and get bumped constantly? At least that’s my opinion. Just for fun I also included my favorite actors and top five lists for hottest actors. No, you would not be able to guess my favorite actors based on my favorite movies. Remember, this is only my top five.
