1. Big Order

Genre: Action, Shounen, and Super Power

Plot Summary: To conquer and dominate—that is the power of “Order” of Hoshimiya Eiji. A decade ago, he was the same person who wished for the destruction of the world. Now, people with varying powers of “Order” are roaming around personifying their hearts’ very own wishes. Such is the genesis of the “Order Users.”

Present day, Eiji is pretty much living a normal life. His past actions are nothing but relics of the past. But, his powers are immense, and so as the truth of the existence of fairies. He’s had his fill of ephemeral peace. Now is the time to conquer and dominate again!

Why it's a Must-Watch: Familiar with Mirai Nikki (Future Diary)? Well, that awesomely popular manga/anime’s creator also made this one! One look at the art and the characters and you’ll realize they’re very similar. Now, does it also live up to the hype? Definitely! It’s as expected! So I’ll leave it at that! I don’t want to spoil the thrill for you. Watch it and you’ll come to understand what I’m talking about.

2. Boku no Hero Academia (My Hero Academia)

Genre: Action, Comedy, School, Shounen, and Super Power

Plot Summary: All Might is the hero of all heroes. He’s strong, he’s powerful, and he’s mighty! With just his might, he can blow and villain away with ease. Such is the idol hero of young Midorima Izuku.

Midoriya always wanted to be a hero. He idolizes All Might and dreams of becoming like him. Unfortunately, he has no “quirk” nor any talent or skill to become one, much to his discontent. But, are those really the only essential requisites for being a hero? All Might thinks otherwise!

All Might has seen something in Midoriya—something a true hero only possess. Will their fateful meeting ultimately alter Midoriya’s destiny?

Why it's a Must-Watch: Boku no Hero Academia is obviously a shounen anime! I’ve always known it’ll become animated one day, and currently, we’re lacking in the mainstream shounen department! That is why this is perfect timing! This show is about heroes and all kinds of heroic powers and antics. By watching it, you’ll feel you want to be a hero as well. And that’s actually the effect of mainstream shounen animation. Now, now, you don’t have a choice! This is definitely gonna be a mainstream shounen anime so you better catch up as soon as you can.

3. Koutetsujou no Kabaneri (Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress)

Genre: Action, Drama, and Fantasy

Plot Summary: A malicious monster appears and its lethal bite can turn humans into undead-like morbid creatures called Kabane. The weakness: Its iron-layered heart that should be pierced!

Far away on an island known as Hinomoto, a locomotive running on steam called “Hayajiro” is the basis for day-to-day living. Stations shelter humans and the Hayajiro catalyzes growth and survival.

One day, Ikoma, a young man who helps build and maintain the Hayajiro, creates a weapon that can fight the merciless creatures. The weapon is called “Tsuranukizutsu” and it’s now just waiting to be used in actual battle. Then suddenly, a turmoil breaks out! The Hayajiro goes whack and the kabaneri are on the loose!

Is the time ripe? Is the Tsuranukizutsu ready to be unleashed? Is there truly any hope left?

Why it's a Must-Watch: Ever heard of Shingeki no Kyojin, Code Geass, and Death? Well, they say that this title is expected to kick-off as a perfect combination of those three. And that just means—MEGA HIT! This show’s already gaining hype and momentum as I write this, and it’s just phenomenal! Now, if the show’s already actually right on front of our eyes, we’ll see! The mania is high for this one!

Mayoiga (The Lost Village)

4. Mayoiga (The Lost Village)

Genre: Drama and Mystery

Plot Summary: Thirty humans, each with different realities and hitches, boards a sketchy bus tour towards a supposedly inexistent village—the Nanakimura!

They all have things to deal with: life, love, friendship, evils, hardships, complications, the list goes on…and all they want is to start anew. This trip is their second chance, their redemption. They know nothing, just an inexistent village they cling their hopes to.

Nanakimura, it’s supposed to be a utopia, a freedom space…or just a rumor! Once they reach the place, they shall know of a village that actually is falling apart, one that they never EVER expected.

Why it's a Must-Watch: Look out drama, mystery, and thrill seekers, we’ve got a baddass over here! It’s Mayoiga and it’s an original Japanese animation with a ginormous potential. Based on just the first episode, this show has already unleashed a vibe of unsettling eeriness and thrill. Prodigious anime series always start with these things. And as where things are currently heading, I’d say Mayoia is heading towards a remarkable revolution!

Sousei no Onmyouji

5. Sousei no Onmyouji

Genre: Action, Fantasy, Shounen, and Supernatural

Plot Summary: Exorcists are vanquishers of evil! Rokuro is one but he doesn’t want to become one exactly. He’d rather be a soccer player, a singer, an actor, ANYTHING but an exorcist! It’s just the way he is, but everything changes when Benio appears in his life.

Benio is an exorcist as well. She’s the reason why Rokuro’s competitive spirit is revived and revitalized anew. It’s now sparking and glowing more than ever before! But then suddenly, this competition takes an unexpected turn when both rivals are fated to become non-rivals! That means—become a couple! They are to become the couple known as the “Twin Star Exorcists,” the greatest exorcists and the ones destined to marry and birth the ultimate exorcist!

Why it's a Must-Watch: Why not? I mean, it’s also a shounen anime. I’ve only seen bits of it but based on feedback by countless of fans who were following it, they’re all very much anticipating it! They say there’s an explosion in every frame, an explosion of awesomeness and remark! That’s actually says a lot because nowadays, the more action and controversy, the more hype. And they also say this is quite entertaining and amusing.
