A Review of Horror / Psychological Thriller Movie, "Triangle"
Triangle: This Movie is Awesome!
Triangle is more of a psychological thriller or a very tense mystery than a horror movie, but the night after I saw it, I did have a freaky dream that I was caught in the same cycle as the protagonist. I liked it so much because it lacks the gore and the sickness of most horror movies, which often rely on a really messed-up idea, but lack in execution (Human Centipede, anyone?). There is just enough terror to make you feel uncomfortable without making you want to throw up, and the fear is nicely rounded out with solid acting and direction. The entire ambiance of the film is eerie and tense, but the two things that brought it home for me were the plot and the leading actress, Melissa George.

Do you like horror movies?
The plot of Triangle meanders, confuses, and leaves you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire film. It comes to a neat conclusion that leaves you questioning what you just saw (in a good way!). You aren't questioning because it doesn't make sense, but rather because the answers to your questions lie in the little details of the movie.
Leading Actress: Melissa George
The main character, Jess, is played by Melissa George, in what may be her best performance ever. This little-known actress was finally given the opportunity to demonstrate her talents with Triangle, and she nailed it. She gives the character depth and heart, and her acting draws the viewer in to her confusion. Watching her, you really empathize with her frustration, and there are a few scenes in which she questions her sanity that made me believe for a second that I had gone crazy!

If you saw Triangle, did you like it?
The film was directed and written by Christopher Smith. It was received well by critics before and after its theatrical release, being called "fresh" by Rotten Tomatoes and "a satisfying mind-twister" by Empire. Overall, Smith really creates spine-tingling scene after spine-tingling scene, and does a wonderful job at making a movie that messes with your mind as much as it gets your adrenaline pumping.
You may have noticed that in this hub I do not give away one single detail about the plot. That is because I don't think you should know anything before you watch the film. Don't watch the trailer, because it gives away far too much. You will have much more fun watching this movie if you don't know what you're getting into. All you need to know is that this movie is awesome, and if you have any appreciation for psychological horror, you will not be disappointed!
