My Three Favourite Famous Siblings

Updated on January 26, 2013

★ツ There are so many celebrity siblings out there. Andrew Murray and brother Jamie (famous for Tennis), Natasha and Daniel Bedingfield (Singers), The Jacksons (Music) and more.... but there are three who are my favourites because they have a beautiful bond.

Williams Sisters

Venus: Born in 1980

Serena: Born in 1981

Professional Tennis players. These two ladies have dominated the world of Tennis and Wimbledon. Their dad coached them into being Tennis Players when they were kids, but thank goodness they developed a flair for it. Life doesn’t always happen that way. Kids don’t always follow the dreams of their parents.

Venus is a seven-time Grand Slam title winner (singles). Serena is a fifteen-time Grand Slam title winner (singles), I enjoy watching them play, though sometimes I don’t agree with some of their outfits which have made headlines. I particularly enjoy watching them playing against each other at the Tennis finals. That must be hard for their parents to watch. Good luck ladies for 2013.

The Royals

Prince William: Born in 1982

Prince Harry: Born in 1984

We all loved Princess Diana (well... most poeple) To me, one of the best things she did in life was to have 2 children. Otherwise, when she passed away, it would have been a very lonely life, if it was one kid. It’s obvious the Princes are very close to each other and interesting how they both enjoy serving in the Military. What I love about them, is their mums qualities and personality, which shines through them. They are not snobbish. Very down to earth. She raised them in a wonderful way.

Now that William is married, ofcourse things would have changed a bit – though still so much love between them. So, we hope he finds his Princess soon.

William and Harry

First Daughters (The Obama's)

Malia: Born in 1998

Sasha: Born in 2001

These two young ladies are growing up so fast. I think it would have been hard if the Obama’s had only one child. Malia and Sasha seem to get on well and I’m sure will make best friends too. They have experienced so many amazing things with their parents. Visits to other Countries. When Michelle visited South Africa, they met Nelson Mandela and only recently above below in Jan 2013, at their dads second Inauguration. Upsetting though, that David Keene asks what right they have to be in the white house with their parents. Full Story Where else should they be? With a Nanny away from their parents?!! Kids belong with their parents.

Sasha and Malia

Do you think it's hard being an only Child?

That's cool of your grandchildren. You get front row tickets as well.

      Thanks for sharing. :-)

I liked Jessie and Frank James when I was a kid, but only the television version. They really made me very tired as I sat before the screen helping them to escape.

My favorite siblings today are my grandchildren. They put on impressive talent shows for me and help me weave wonderful yarns (never-ending stories). Those little buggers are super awesome when they are sound asleep!

      What an interesting hub!

Thank You for sharing, In His Love, Grace, Joy , Peace & Blessings!

the obama sisters are pretty! :D

i do not know if i can survive being the only child in a family. it would be a challenge but i believe that the parents and the people around could truly ease the sadness being the lone child.

we are four in the family, and i am the eldest. it's always lovely to have sisters and brothers.

Great hub as always. Wow don't the Williams sister look so glamorous out of their tennis kit! I hardly recognised them, particularly Venus!

The Obama children inspire me a lot. Good on their parents and especially Michelle for being a driving force. Serena and Venus too, yes.

I hope that the princes will blossom like their mom. She was a spiritual woman and moving very fast though her association with men and women of God. I see that you are a Lonndoner. I am not far from you. Read some of my poems and stay in touch.

Hi James - They are a lovely group. As today is Saturday, I'm guessing you will be dancing to Saturday Night Fever by the Bee Gees.... Time for those Disco shoes to come out. :-)

@MsDora - Thanks so much. Lovely to see you again. I'm glad you stopped by.

@Teaches - I like the fact that your son enjoys it. He is content. It must be amazing to have 7 other siblings and awesome for your son too. It's so true about the Sisters. I still have the recording on my TV of last year when Serena won in Wimbledon. The reason I kept if was for the support her family gave her and the way she literally jumped to meet them, when she won. Thanks for stopping.

I have an only child, he enjoys the fact know that he is older. I just watched the tennis match this past week and see that the sisters support each other even though only one is playing on the court. Siblings are such a blessing, I have seven and enjoy each of them.

Lady_E, I never thought about it until now, and I think that I would choose the same three pairs that you did. Excellent choice and excellent presentation. Voted Up and Interesting!

@Perspycacious - Oh, how could I forget the Osmonds. There closing song comes to my mind now "May tomorrow be a perfect day, may you find love and laughter along the way...." They are awesome and Donny just keeps getting younger. I haven't seen them around for a very long time though. Thanks for reminding me about them.

@Alecia Murphy - Thanks for sharing your story. It's beautiful that you have extended family. That must make a big difference. I guess being an only child or having siblings both have their good points.

      I'm glad you stopped by.

@ComfortB - I used to watch their program decades ago, but since they were Teens, I haven't seen them in any other productions. Lovely girls. Thanks for the other names you shared too.

@Pamela - Thanks for sharing that. It's very nice to know that some kids who are an only child, flourish just as much as those who have siblings. Best Wishes.

I think it depends. I enjoyed the fact that as an only child, I didn't have to compete for my parents' attention but at the same time it is hard sometimes not to have someone who knows exactly how you feel about your family.

But I am fortunate that I had a lot of extended family around to make me feel better.

I can't think of anyone better than the Presidents daughters and Prince Harry and William. The Williams rose through poverty to build an empire. I admire them immensley I also admire the Chinese twins, Chang and Eng who built a life under very difficult circumstances. Great hub..Enjoyed...

Very interesting write Lady_E. I also like the Mowrys Sisters - Twins Tia and Tamera Mowry for their faith-based, positive lifestyle. The Olsen twins, Jenna Bush and Barbara Bush, former first daughters, are also some of my favorite siblings.

@Maria Thanks for sharing your experience. Overall, you must have had a lovely childhood. Aunties and Cousins do make a looooot of difference, especially at Birthdays and Christmas. :-) I am glad that you are close to your Cousins too. Not all families are blessed with that closeness.

      Best Wishes.

@dghbrh Thanks for sharing your childs experience. Nice. I always say to people, I just want one kid but when I see siblings get on so well (not just celebs), I have a change of heart. :-)

nice one though I am an only child I am lucky to have aunties and cousins who love me. but there is really a downside, when you have problem with your parents, you don't have a sibling that can actually feel what you feel, your aunties and cousins will always love you, but still they have their own family that they will prioritize before you. but I am not that negative LOL, I am really close with my cousins, just like the examples you posted above..

Nice hub.....though i think its not tough to be a single child. I have a brother. but i have a single child. he seems to be happier to be single then i was at his age to have a younger sibling. Never the less you hub is nicely done and I have enjoyed reading it totally. Voted up interesting and sharing too.
