Collector's Edition by Carly Simon (Madacy Entertainment, Canada, 2009)

1. Collector's Edition - Carly Simon (Canadian import, 2009) 4 weeks #1

This is a 3-disc collection comprised of Carly's work from 1971 to 1983. It's packaged in a special tin container. The one downside is the omission of Nobody Does It Better.

2. Panic Of Girls - Blondie (UK import, 2011) 3 weeks #1

This disc was also my #2 of 2011. In my opinion, it's the best Blondie disc sice their 1999 comeback.

3. Holidaydream: Sounds Of The Holidays, Vol. One - The Polyphonic Spree (2012) 3 weeks #1

Trippy, psychadelic versions of Christmas favorites with two originals. The highlight for me is their cover of John Lennon's "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)."

4. The Donna Summer Anthology (1993) 3 weeks #1

Donna's passing had a profound effect on me as evidenced by this entry.

5. The Groop (2007) 2 weeks #1

I refer to this one as my "monster" disc. It's been #1 the longest of anything since I started my online list in 2006 at 24 weeks so far. This is also the 5th straight year it's made my year-end list, consistently top 10 to boot. An original 1969 album with two previously unreleased tracks, it has some of the most stunning harmonies I'd ever heard.

6. Boxed - Eurythmics (UK import, 2005) 2 weeks #1

I found myself stuck on the duo's "Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)" disc from this set but threw in favorite songs from other ones boosting its status this year.

7. Strange Euphoria - Heart (2012) 2 weeks #1

What I have is a free download version of this which actually excludes 8 songs from the official release. It didn't phase me, hence its appearance on this list.

8. The Best Of Tracey Ullman (1992) 2 weeks #1

I worked on a local musical called Beehive which showcased hits from the 60's by the top female artists of its time. It reminded me of this disc which is comprised of Tracey's first album You Broke My Heart In 17 Places, five songs from her second album You Caught Me Out, and four non-album B-sides.

9. The Complete Mercury Recordings - Spanky & Our Gang (2005) 2 weeks #1

This is made up of the group's albums Spanky & Our Gang, Like To Get To Know You, Anything You Choose/Without Rhyme And Reason, Spanky's Greatest Hit(s), Live, and The Singles.

10. 50 Words For Snow - Kate Bush (2011) 1 week #1

I was glad this one ended up top 10 this year as it only came in 14th on my list in 2011. It's a winter-themed album and a masterpiece in the tradition of Kate's brilliance. It includes vocals by Elton John, Stephen Fry, and Kate's son, Bertie.
