New Music Collaboration Joins List Of "Inside" Songs

Nearly every music artist has offered performances through streaming during the current crisis, but few are playing new material. Two of the most famous hitmakers, however, have gotten together to release a new song about the coronavirus.
Leon Bridges and John Mayer just this week made available their collaboration, which has already become one of the most listened to songs on the Internet. Titled "Inside Friend," the hit provides a first hand take on the social distancing limitations brought about by COVID-19.
The stay at home orders decreed by each state have forced people people to basically avoid going out, thereby explaining the reason for the adjective ing the title. The Bridges-Mayer tune now joins a long list of "Inside" songs, such as the following fifteen.
1. Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again by Bob Dylan
Providing over seven minutes of delight, this imagery-laden classic is one of many highlights from the Blond On Blond album.
2. Fight from the Inside by Queen
Drummer Roger Taylor contributed this rock gem to News of the World, the record that spawned "We Will Rock You" and "We Are the Champions."
3. Inside Out by Spoon
They Want My Soul is the album featuring this single, which has Brit Daniel slowing the pace down just a bit.
4. Crippled Inside by John Lennon
While nowhere near as well-known as the title track, this catchy political piece is still one of the most enduring cuts from Imagine.
5. (Inside My) DNA by Kendrick Lamar
Its video helped stir interest in this hit from Damn, which is a darn good album.
6. Inside and Out by Genesis
Originally intended for the Wind and Wuthering album, it did not become available until two years later on the Spot the Pigeon EP.
7. Hurting Inside by the Dave Clark Five
Ranking right up there with "Because" and "Glad All Over," you will find this too often forgotten two minute treasure.

Guitarist Mike McReady wrote this inside tune, the only track from the Avocado album which was not composed by Eddie Vedder.
