Mixing Syncopated Elements of Two Step, 808 style Old School Hip Hop

Mixing syncopated elements of Two Step, 808 style Old School Hip Hop, Footwork and Analog Synth Bass, SLVA deliver dystopian narratives with a widescreen cinematic vibe. Their samples produce the next generation of protest music, a direct and vital response to the current state of the world; fake news, shadow governments, Vault7, black ops and the deep state, nothing is safe from SLVA's scrutiny.

As part of a Manchester collective including Crystalize, Quest, Fox, Trigga, Sappo, Devious Devon, Das Intalex, James Ford (Simian Mobile Disco) and a young student singer from Brixton called Akrasi, Patrick was an early adopter of the internet, streaming events live as early as 1996 using Realplayer technology, despite very other people having the capabilities to listen.

By the start of the new millennium Akrasi and Patrick had relocated to South London, signing to hip Munich electronica label owned by Wu Tang / Bjork remixers - Funkstorung. Their melodic breakbeats led the duo to record with Kevin Davy (KDQ/Lamb), MC Buzz B (Lionrock), and Bristol's Rob Smith (Smith&Mighty/RSD). After playing some memorable shows throughout Europe and the UK, they released an EP and criticslly acclaimed album 'We Are In The Future' before calling it a day in 2008.

SLVA is Patrick Luke. Originating from Cornwall, he moved to Manchester to begin a musical journey that's spanned the last three decades. A founding member and frontman of Indie band, Sandmen, Patrick moved into production and engineering after the bands demise in 1995 after finding inspiration in Manchester's emerging Drum n Bass scene.

In 2010 Patrick co-founded Official Burnt Toast with Canadian MC and drummer Adrian Lawrence and bass player Abrar Hafiz (Sonar Fariq), recording and producing the OBT album with Adrian in his garage. The record was released in 2015 on boutique label called Sonskrif.
