What Your Favorite Netflix Original?
Netflix Originals
Unless you've been under a rock for the last several years you have heard of success of Netflix's original series, such as House of Cards and Orange is the New Black.
Along with these excellent hits they have also has some misfires such as Marco Polo and Hemlock Grove but when they do get it right, Netflix is producing some of the best shows out there.
Their most recent offerings, the Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Bloodline have them back on track and making great shows both in the comedy and drama genres. Netflix set out with a mission plan to become the new HBO, meaning they were going to try to produce shows that everyone is talking about and is willing to pay a premium to be able to see.
They have succeeded, if you paid for a Netflix subscription and used it solely to watch their original content and only that it would still be well worth it.
Amazon Prime
Netflix currently is the undisputed Champion of the streaming industry but Amazon Prime is a close second and definitely worth a look.
Amazon Prime offers many of the same shows and movies that you'll find on Netflix but in addition, like Netflix they also produce some of their own content. Two of their shows are very good including, Alpha House starring, John Goodman and the critically acclaimed, Transparent.
Alpha House is a comedy involving Senator's who reside together in a house in D.C. and is based on a true story. The show is currently in it's second season and both are available to stream on Amazon Prime.
Transparent is about a man in his early 60's who has three grown children and decides he is going to come out an transform into a woman as he has always wanted to. The show is well acted and written and takes a sensitive subject and treats it with care and understanding while at the same time making a very funny show.
Also, another added perk to Amazon Prime is that once you pay the yearly subscription, not only do you get access to all the streaming content but you also will get free two day shipping on eligible items you purchase from Amazon. The majority of items are eligible for Amazon Prime shipping so this perk pretty much makes the service well worth the price.
Amazon offers a free one month trial, so go check it out and watch some episodes of Transparent and Alpha House and decide for yourself if you want to add it and compliment your Netflix subscription. With both services you can easily cut the cable cord and have access to a ton of entertainment for a much lower cost than you're likely paying for cable or satellite.
