Recommendation - Inferno

What was this movie's biggest pro was also it's biggest con. The movie setup the issue of overpopulation in a powerful way but failed to deliver a compelling movie about that topic. Instead this was a mindless movie of following Robert Langdon piecing things together while exploring magnificent scenery. Unfortunately all the good things in this movie were cancelled out by the bad which resulted in a very average movie. This movie will not blow you away, or challenge your mystery solving skills. I recommend checking this movie out if you have seen both The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons and even then I think you will be somewhat let down. If you have not seen both of the two previous movies then this movie is not worth seeing, not because it will confuse you as a result of not seeing the previous movies, but because this movie is not strong enough to stand on it's own since (again) it is a very average movie. So I would not recommend adding this movie to your home video collection.

Recommendation - The Light Between Oceans

I personally thought that The Light Between Oceans was a disappointment. I thought there was a lot of interesting and compelling material based on the premise and trailer but the movie did not deliver. I thought the acting in the film was fantastic. Both Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander gave great performances but I did not buy into their chemistry together as quickly as the movie progressed their relationship. The acting and the premise were really the best things of this movie, the execution of the premise was poor and resulted in a boring movie.

I would not recommend adding this movie to your home video collection. As for renting it? I think there are far better movies to spend your money on, so only rent this one if you are incredibly bored.
