Sometimes it's just nice to get away from newer shows and see what the past has to offer.

The A-Team

Source

The A-Team follows a group of fugitives accused of war crimes. The team consists of Hannibal, the leader, Murdock, the crazy guy, Faceman, the pretty boy, and B. A. Baracus, the muscle. They take calls from all kinds of people with problems that require a special touch to fix. Lots of car chases and plans keep you on your tiptoes the entire time you're watching it. The only downside to the show is that it's not available to stream unless bought by the episode or by the season.

MacGyver

Source

The original MacGyver, played by Richard Dean Anderson, is truly an amazing show to watch. The show follows MacGyver who works for the Phoenix Foundation in Los Angeles, California. His boss, Peter Thornton, is the person who gives him his jobs, which send him all over the world. By the end of the show you'll be aspiring to become the next covert operative just like MacGyver, carrying around a swiss army knife and always thinking about how to get out of any situation. The show is available to stream on CBS All Access.

Star Trek

Source

Have you ever looked up at the stars and wondered what was out there? Well, Star Trek is the result of a TV show about this very topic. The starship USS Enterprise is commandeered by Captain Kirk who leads them from planet to planet discovering new life forms and ways of life. Just the topic of the show itself is interesting, but with the brilliant acting displayed on the show, Star Trek is definitely worth watching. Although the CGI is not great, it was way ahead of its time, so consider that while watching it. The show is available to stream on most platforms. Another great part about Star Trek is that the streaming service you have, if it doesn't have the original, will most likely have one of the many spinoffs. My favorite is the prequel.

Recommend Buying Original

Star Trek: The Original Series: The Complete Series [Blu-ray]
Star Trek: The Original Series: The Complete Series [Blu-ray]

Usually, I wouldn't care if I watch something on a streaming service, but such a popular and pivotal show as Star Trek deserves a space in our physical TV Case to save for our kids and grandkids to cherish in the future.

Battlestar Galactica

Source

Battlestar Galactica is the perfect alternate Star Trek, but it didn't get continued by NBC after only a few seasons. It doesn't last as long as you'd hope, but it's still worth watching because it is a truly great show with an even greater plot. The show follows the last remaining ship of the human race after the Cylons destroyed Earth and all its inhabitants. Some of the main characters of the show are Lieutenant Starbuck, Captain Apollo, Commander Adama, Lieutenant Athena, Lieutenant Boomer, and many others. The show is available to stream on NBC or to purchase on Amazon Prime
